Cleta S. Chisman

Cleta Stephenson Chisman, 84, of Grant City, Mo., died Oct. 9, 1999.
Her funeral service was held today at Kirk Cemetery in Allendale, Mo.
She was born Feb. 21, 1915 in Allendale, Mo. to James and Pearl Miller.
She was married to Clyde Stephenson who died in 1960 and Jesse Chisman who died 1980.
She was a graduate of Grant City High School, a member of the Southern Baptist Church and a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She lived in Augusta for 17 years and retired from a position as city clerk.
She is survived by sons Jerry Stephenson of Grant City, Mo., Lee Stephenson of Bedford, Iowa; daughter Karen Rief of Laurel, Iowa; brother Milo Miller of Augusta, 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Cora F. Schupp

Cora F. Schupp, 87, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999.
Her funeral was held Friday in El Dorado.
She was a former Eagle delivery person and a homemaker.
She is survived by sons, Herman, of Augusta, John Jr., of El Dorado, daughters Oreta Black-well, of El Dorado, Juanita Gumpell, of Wichita, Berneal Wyatt, of Mansfield, Ark., Myrtle Crumrine, of El Dorado, Bernice Clark, of Osceola, Mo., brother Ralph McCune, of Hutchinson, sister Elsie Richey, of Madison, Tenn., 39 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Alzhieimer’s Association.

Mildred Strong

Mildred Louise Strong, 80, of Augusta died Monday, Oct. 11,1999.
Graveside service will be at Walnut Valley Cemetery in El Dorado at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13 with Rev. Frank Miller officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m.today at Dunsford Chapel in Augusta.
She was born June 16, 1919 in Rosalia to Vincent and Mar-na Travnichek.
She was a homemaker, married to Earl Strong on May 5, 1945 in Wichita. He survives.
Other survivors are son Larry Strong of Augusta, daughters Sharon Malan and Shirley Kirkpatrick, both of Augusta, four grandchildren, Joshua and Adam Kirkpatrick, Darren Malan and Paula Nichols and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer’s Association.

Stella Jones

Stella Jones of Arkansas died Sunday, Oct. 10,1999.
She is survived by sisters, Jewel Clayton, Audrey White, niece Shirley Clayton and nephew Daryl Clayton all of Augusta.

Denise Eldredge

Denise Melanie (Phillips) Eldredge, 35, of Wichita died Saturday, Oct. 9.
Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999 at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 13. from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
She was a sales secretary with Journal Broadcasting.
She is survived by son Jay P. Nelson, of Douglass, daughter Sarah N. Nelson, of Douglass, parents Dennis and Melanie Phillips, of Omaha, Neb. and grandparents Donald and Ruth Phillips of Augusta.
