Paul Snyder’s Rites Friday
Paul Snyder, 72-year-old father of former Augustan Maxine Male, died Monday in a Grove, Okla., hospital following a short illness.
His name was incorrectly spelled in yesterday’s paper.
Masonic graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Cemetery.
Other survivors include his wife, Helen; a son, Gerald of Baxter Springs; daughters, Betty Lou Anderson of Wichita and seven grandchildren.
Maudie Evans Died At AMCI
Maudie Alice Evans, 85, formerly of Mulvane and a resident of Walnut Valley Manor nursing home here, died Tuesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Derby with Rev. J.L. Robbins officiating and burial in the Littleton Cemetery at Mulvane. The Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Feb. 5, 1898 as a daughter of Samuel E. and Maggie Jackson Gilmer.
Survivors include a son, Elvis of Hemet, Calif., three daughters, Letha Bishop of Andover, Joyce Ford of Wichita, and Mildred Peak of Col-dwater; three sisters, Veda
Jones and Alta Alridge of San Diego, Calif., 18 grandchildren,
36 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and a son, Henry.

Shock Victim
Henry Daniels, 22, Elkhart, died this morning at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was injured when he came in contact with a high voltage line northeast of Augusta Tuesday night.
Daniels and another man, Clayton Wellen, also of Elkhart, were loading hay for Robert Skaer of rural Augusta.
Services are pending at an Naylor Funeral Home in Weir.

Dexter Bassett Dies At AMCI
Dexter Dillard Bassett, 81, 1601 Washington Lane, died Sunday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 6, 1902 in Bulter, Mo., to Dexter and Eva Willey Bassett.
He married Louvena Pearl Headrick Dec. 28, 1938 in Greensboro, N.C. She survives.
He was a sub-station engineer for the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Other survivors include daughters, Mrs. Ben Rogers of Wichita and Patricia Hagans of Chapel Hill, N.C.; brother, Lloyd Bassett of Sidney, Austrailia; half sisters, Rose Brinkle of Miami, Fla., Marvel L. Walker of Butler, Helen Hall, Bernita Bassett, and Shirley Wall, all of Las Vegas, Nev., and four grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Golda May Nelson, 83, Kinsley, formerly of Augusta, died Tuesday at the Medical Lodge in Kinsley.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Church of the Nazarene in Augusta.
She was born Feb. 26, 1900 in Van Buren, Mo.
She married Henry Orville Nelson in Galatia in 1920. He died in August of 1939.
She was a member of the Nazarene church.
Survivors include a son, Garland Nelson of Lutz, Fla.; daughters, Barbara Wines and May Ree Branstetter, both of Wichita, Fern Fudder, South Gate, Mich., Arlene Tschop of Philadelphia, Pa., and Vivian Tohanczyn of Folsom, Pa.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Former Resident Dies California
Mrs. Bertha Davis, a former Augusta resident, died in Long Beach, Calif., yesterday at the age of 92.
She died at the California Convalescence Home. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank and two children.
Her funeral will be Friday in Long Beach and burial will be at the Green Hill Memorial Cemetery in nearby San Pedro.
She is survived by two grand-daughters. Survivors in Augusta include a niece, Mrs. John McClintock and a nephew,
Glen Trebbe.
She was born on April 14, 1891.
Her maiden name was Trebbe.
