Esther Mae Lockwood

Esther Mae Lockwood, 99, died Friday, May 2, 1997 at Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral service was held this afternoon at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel.
Rev. Vern Bowers of the First United Methodist Church officiate and burial was'in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born May 29, 1897 in Gallayin, Mo., as the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. George C. Flowers.
She married Lawrence E. Lockwood on Feb. 6, 1921 in Erie. He preceded her in death in 1976.
The Lockwoods moved to Augusta from Emporia in 1929.
This homemaker loved to bake, loved plants and animals. Mrs. Lockwood taught a Sunday School Class at the Methodist Church for 10 years.
Mrs. Lockwood leaves a son, Charles Wayne of Houston, Texas; two grandsons, Charles Frederick Hall and wife Bobbie, and Stephen Craig Hall and wife Kip, all of Houston. There are three great-grandchildren surviving.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Viola Krampe
Former Augusta resident Viola Krampe, 92, Durango, Colo., died Saturday, May 3,1997 at the Fourt Corners Nursing Home in Durango.
She was the mother of Madalen Chiaro, also of Durango, and grandmother of Ron Chiaro of Augusta.
Her graveside funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the cemetery in Sterling, Kan. Father Jim Hoagland will officiate.
She was born March 29, 1905 in Ellin wood.
Her husband, William, preceded her in death in 1966.1n addition to her daughter and grandson, Mrs. Krampe leaves a son-in-law, Don Chiaro of Durango, a granddaughter, Connie Dubus of Andover, and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Columba Catholic Church at 1830 E. Second, Durango, CO. 81301.

Beverly Priddy

Beverly Mae Priddy, 64, of Augusta died Wednesday, May 28 ,1997.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Palm Mortuary Chapel in Las Vegas, Nev. Dunsford Funeral Home has the local arrangements.
Beverly Mae Wilson was born Jan. 8, 1933 in San Pedro, Calif., to Owen O. and Lucille F. (Henry) Wilson.
She married Norman Priddy June 1, 1948, in Las Vegas.
She was a restaurant supervisor, living in Las Vegas until 1996.
Survivors are husband, Owen Priddy of Augusta; sons, Jim Priddy of Augusta and tom Priddy of Las Vegas; parents Owen Wilson of Las Vegas and Lucille McKeever of San Diego, Calif.; half-sister, Frances Swartz of San Diego, Calif., and four grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.

Hattie Chalmers

Hattie May Chalmers, 91, of Augusta died Thursday, May 8, 1997.
Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Dunsford Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 12, at First Christian Church with Rev. Tom Davis officiating. Burial will follow the service in Elmwood Cemetery.
Hattie May Bell was born Oct. 17, 1905, in Augusta to Arthur and Mary Ella (Norwood) Bell.
She married Fred Eugene Chalmers Aug. 18, 1923, in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1973.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church of Augusta.
Survivors are sons Glen Chalmers of Beaumont, Texas; daughters, Betty Lou Ruggles of Augusta and Ruth Briggs of Peoria, Ariz.; sister, Margaret Thompson of Sedalia, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Harold Chalmers, and a great-grandson, Shane Peat.
A memorial has been established with First Christian Church, 1600 State, Augusta, KS. 67010.
