Jerry Thomas

Jerry M. Thomas, 60, Excel Manufacturing shipping and receiving employee of Newton and brother of Bill Thomas of Augusta, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at Salem United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be possible from 6:30 to 8 p.m Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Peterson Funeral Home in Newton.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his companion, Carol Cornwell of Newton; sons, Bradley of Louisville, Ky., Brent of Newton; daughter, Christina Fowler of North Bend, Neb.; brothers, Allen of Sedgwick, Bill of Augusta; sisters, Beverly Hilberling of Owasso, Okla., Lorna Preston of Newton, Mabel Stamback of Sedgwick; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.

Glee Jones

Glee (Whittington) Jones, 91, of Belleville, formerly of Augusta, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001.
Her graveside service was Monday, Feb. 19, 2001 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Wichita.
Survivors are sons, Nicholas of Belleville, Edward II of Locust Grove, Va.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Belleville Public Library.

Marie Turner

Marie Turner, 53, homemaker of Augusta, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001.
Her service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001 at the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall west of Augusta.
Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband, Thomas; daughter, Valarie Freeman of Arlington, Texas; mother, Norris Abercrombie of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Willie Freeman, David Freeman, and Mathis Freeman, all of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Norris Soders, Patricia Marshall, Esther Hayes, Bertha Freeman-Haynes all of Fort Worth, Texas, Zakiya Kangetha of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren


Milo K. Miller

Milo K. Miller, 88, retired S.W. Body Trailer Co. plant manager and former Loadcraft Trailer Co. vice president, of Augusta, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Miller is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws, Arlin and Jo Miller of Denton, Texas, Lee and Judy Miller of Augusta; daughter, Rochelle Bieghler of Wichita; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife Elda on Jan. 23, 2001; sister, Cleta Chisman; grandsons, Wade and Cris Miller.
Memorial has been made to the American Heart Association.
Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Peggy L. Kingsley

Peggy Lorraine Kingsley, 64, El Dorado, Beverly Rehabilitation Center nurse aide and stepmother of Kevin Kingsley of Augusta, died Sunday, May 27, 2001.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 1, at Carlson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kingsley is survived by husband, Leonard; son, Robert Edwards of El Dorado; daughters, Karen Thomas of Towanda, Tina Kennedy of El Dorado; stepsons, Lonnie of St. Joseph, Mo., Kevin of Augusta; stepdaughter, Shzelda Glock of El Dorado; brothers, James Hughes of Colorado Springs, Byron Hughes of Security, Colo.; sisters, Jolene Anderson of El Dorado, Irene Sessler of Santa Clara, Calif.; three grandchildren; nine stepgrandchil-dren; 11 step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Hospice, Inc.

Arnold R. Hopper

Arnold R. Hopper, 54, Augusta, retired construction worker,
died Friday, May 25, 2001. A private family service will be held.
Mr. Hopper is survived by sons Richard E. of Augusta, Richard of Corsicana, Texas; daughters, Nancy Gilmour of Wichita, Stephanie Hopper of Augusta; one grandchild.
Watson Funeral Home in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.
