Father Dies In Hamilton
Carl V. Owen Sr., 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 9 in his home at Hamilton.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka.
He was born Dec. 15,1901, in Monarch, Ark., to Robert Dale Owen and Lennie Stackhouse. He moved to Utopia in 1928 and to Hamilton in 1935. He spent most of his life as a farmer.
He was married to Minnie Buffington on March 16,1924, in Yellville, Ark.
He was a Jamesville Township trustee for many years and a member of the Hamilton Masonic Lodge 301.
Survivors are his wife of the home; three sons: Darien, Roswell, N.M.; Lloyd, Eureka; and Carl Jr., Hamilton; two daughters: Bernice Kelley, Emporia; and Lennie Elliott, Augusta; a sister: Elizabeth Blackwell, Arkansas; brothers: Zerold, Arkansas; Jim, El Dorado; Burt, Arkansas; Doris, Arkansas; Elam, Rockford, Ill., T.J., Oklahoma City; and L.D., Little Rock, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Greenwood County Hospital.

Ex-Augustan Dies At 77
Lloyd L. Cox, 77, Independence, Mo., formerly of Augusta, died last night.
His service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Blue Valley Salvation Army Corps Church in Kansas City, Mo.
He was bom July 24,1904 in Illinois to Jessie and Etta Hughes Cox. He came with his family to Augusta when he was 12 and later worked for the White Eagle Refinery here. When he was 27, he moved to Kansas City.
Among the survivors are a sister, Grace Keen, Augusta.

Benton Man Dies At 83
Fred W. Harrison, 83, Benton, died Wednesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Benton Cemetery. The Towanda Masonic Lodge 30 will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the Walnut Valley Nursing Home in care of the Benton State Bank.
He was bom Aug. 5, 1898 in Benton to William and Minnie Winters Harrison.
He married Vera Chappie Oct. 20,1926 in Hutchinson. She survives.
He was a retired farmer and contractor. He was a members of the Wichita Consistory, Mi-dian Shrine and the Towanda Masonic Lodge.
Other survivors include a son, William Harrison of Towanda; daughters, Minnie Good, Benton, Virgie Alden, Wichita; a brother, Ellet Harrison, Ex-more, Va.; sister, Virgie Morris, Ethel Scott, both of Wichita; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Downing & Lahey Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Dies At AMCI
Susie Mary Marnane, 92, Benton, died at the Augusta Medical Complex yesterday.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary Chapel, 3424 East 21st Street, Wichita. Pastor August Kubish will officiate and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Wichita.
A memorial has been established with the Benton Athletic Association in care of the Benton State Bank.
She was bora Feb. 29, 1889 in Andover to Ephriam and Teresa Manlove Waggoner.
She was a retired telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. She was a member of the Benton Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Louis F. Marnane of Benton; a daughter, Lucille Winegarner of Benton; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Brother Dies
Jay Carl Arnold, 71, Independence, brother of Troy Arnold of Augusta, died at the Cof-feyyille Hospital yesterday.
His service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Bacon will officiate and burial will be at the Mulvane Cemetery.
He was bom May 22, 1910 in Belle Plaine to Clem and Grace Johnson Arnold.
He married Geraldine F. Finley Sept. 8, 1967 in Blackwell, Okla. She survives.
He was an iron worker and a member of the Christian Church. He served in the military during World War II and was a member of the VFW.
Other survivors include a son, Charles Williams, Wichita; a stepson, Charles Williams, Wichita; stepdaughters, Judy Laluk, Italy, Caroline Armstrong, Wichita, Vickie Huston and Kathryn Nelson, both of Independence and LaVeta Bowker, Shidler, Okla.; another brother, Ray Arnold of Casper,
Wyo. and 11 grandchildren.
A stepson, Leanord Williams, and a brother, Guy Arnold, preceded him in death.

Pansy Pickrell Dies At AMCI
Pansy Pickrell, 315 Columbia, died this morning at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Services are pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home.
Among the survivors is her husband, Arthur Pickrell.
