Edgar A. Harris
Edgar Allen Harris, 89, Augusta Lake Point Nursing Center resident, father of Verlee Parrish of Augusta died today, Wednesday, April 17,2002.
He was the father-in-law of Neal Parrish and grandfather of Ben and Barry Parrish,.
Mr. Harris’ graveside service will be 2 p.m,, Saturday, April 20, at the Fredonia City Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 19, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Mr. Harris served in World War II from March I 29, 1944-Jan. 7, 1946. He received the Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the Philippines Liberation Campaign ribbon.
He was preceded in death by : parents, Ben and Cecile; wife, Lou Harris; brother, Waldo Harris.
Other survivors include: son, Philip E. Harris and wife, June of Protem, Mo.; sister, Juanita Ogden, Independence, five grandchildren, and 10 greatgrandchildren.
Memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is handling the arrangements.
Frances Elizabeth Cogan
Frances Elizabeth Cogan, 81, Towanda, retired postal clerk and Postmaster in Towanda from 1960 -1983, formerly of Augusta, died Monday, April 22, 2002.
Services were today at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Towanda. Interment will be at the Towanda cemetery.
She was preceded in death by husband, Dale Cogan (5-13-2001), daughter, Sharon and brother, George Boom, Jr.
She was born December 23,
1920 to George and Edith Reed in Eureka and married Dale Cogan on July 6, 1940 in Stockton, Mo.
Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Fred Howell of Towanda; granddaughter, Lori Wallace and spouse Alvin; great-grandchildren, Kayla,
Jake, Derek and Olivia of Douglass; Diane Houck and husband Phil of Towanda; Tim Reiswig and wife Gayle and great-granddaughter Bayley of El Dorado; Michael Reiswig and wife Brenda; great-grandchildren Christina, Christopher, Joshua and Samira of Leon; step-grandchildren, Angela Howell of Wichita, Shawn Howell and wife, Jahna; greatgrandchild, Evan of Lawrence, and Stacy Howell of Seattle, Wash.
Mrs. Cogan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Towanda.
Carlson Funeral Home of El Dorado handled arrangements.

John A. Vogt, 67, Augusta, died yesterday. He was retired from Cessna as sheetmetal final assembler and also worked at Beech Aircraft on Bell Helicopter Door Assembly.
Visitation will be from lto 5 p.m., Sunday at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
Service will be at 2 p.m.,
Monday, May 6, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Vogt loved to hunt, fish and work on cars with this grandsons.
He served 16 1/2 years with the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Kenneth and Mabel Vogt; son, Kenneth Vogt, Sr.; granddaughter, Mandy Jo Vogt.
Survivors: wife, Mary “Jody”; daughters, Jacklyn L. Lee, Goldie D. & Kevin L. Kingsley, Tina & Randy Hargus, all of Augusta, Vickie& Russell Dodd of Wichita; sisters, Judith Kay and husband Melvin Long of Oklahoma City, Jean Ann Dunn of Tote, Alaska; grandchildren; John Brennan, Andrew Belt, Joann Bevan, Russell Brennan, Stephanie Crom, Brandy Hargus, Amber Hargus, Kenneth Vogt, Jr., Melanie Vogt, Melissa Dodd; great-grandchildren, Teirra Brennan, Tatum Brennan, Ethan Brennan, Morgan Belt, Bryar Belt, Trevar Bevan, Preston Bevan, Blake Bevan, Natalie Bevan, Lakota Crom, Vanessa Patason Brennan, Randall Crutcher, Sarah Harris; many nephews and nieces.
