Sister Dies In Wichita
Dorothy L. Engels, 57, rural Rose Hill, sister of Pauline Korte of Augusta, died June 1 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her service was at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Derby. Father David W. Lennebur and Father Arthur A. Busch officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Wichita.
Memorials have been established with the St. Joseph Medical Center oncology unit in Wichita and the Butler County Cancer Society in El Dorado.
She was born to John and Theresa Pauly Schippers April 3, 1926 in Colwich.
She married John E. Engels.
Other survivors include sons, Duane of Rose Hill, Glenn of Garden City, Dean of Wichita; daughter, Nancy Peterie of El Dorado; brothers, Edward, Clarence, Clayton and Elmer Schippers, all of Wichita, Jerome Schippers of Colwich, Lawrence Schippers of Valley Center; sisters, Aletha Smit, Betty Umscheid, both of Wichita, Bernice Saxon of West Palm Beach, Fla., Alice Meysing of Lincolnville, Thelma Moore of Branson, Mo.

Brother Dies In El Dorado
Donald E. Andrews, 56, El Dorado, brother of Edwen Andrews of Leon, died Sunday.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Carlson Funeral Home.
Survivors also include other brothers Lewis, Jess, Robert and John W., all of El Dorado, Bill of Montana and sisters, Mary Balch, Ruby Fritzler, both of El Dorado.

Stepmother Dies At 88
Edna Otillia Mead, 88, Richmond, Texas, stepmother of Grace Castor of Douglass, died Sunday.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. today at the Wichita Park Cemetery.
Other survivors include a son, James of Wichita and daughters, Wanda Mae Pittman of Houston and Betty Jo Jones of Manitou Springs, Colo.
Cochran Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Brother Dies
Gill Britt, 53, Willow Grove, Pa., brother of Barbara Savage of Augusta, died March 18 of a massive heart attack at Willow Grove, Pa.
He was a textile manufacturer. He had visited in the Augusta area several times.
Other survivors include his wife and four children.

Former Leon Resident Dies
Richard Elwyn Abraham, 50, Olympia, Wash., formerly of Leon, died Saturday. He was the brother of Michael Abraham of Augusta.
Services have been held.
Abraham was a retired Southern Pacific railroad employee and retired from the U.S. Navy.
Other survivors are: his wife, Gracie; son, Richard “Robbie” of Santee, Calif.; parents, Elwyn and Margaret Abraham of Rose Hill; brothers, Michael of Augusta, Stephen, Justin, Albert, all of Wichita; Burl, Robert, both of Rose Hill; James of Tucuman, Argentina; sisters, Carol Ann Windbigler of Tulsa, Okla.; Belinda Brown of Wichita.

Plymate Dies In Missouri
Mrs. Elizabeth Dill Plymate, 75, Springfield, Mo., died Wednesday.
She was the sister of Kenneth Dill of Augusta and cousin to Anna and Erma Boyd, also of Augusta.
Services will be held Saturday afternoon at Greenlawn Mortuary South in Springfield.
Friends may call at Dunsford Funeral Home Sunday evening for viewing. Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery at 1 p.m., Monday.
She was born July 27, 1907, at Oblong, Ill, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Irvine Dill. She married Clay Plymate May 7, 1940 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Other survivors are a son Clay Jr., daughter Elizabeth Evalee Fleming of Springfield, Mo.; sister, Mrs. Priscilla Copenhaver of Bartlesville, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.

Ex-Augustan Dies At 51
Van Bly, 51, Springfield, Mo., formerly of Augusta, died there Monday.
His service was at the Klinger Mortuary in Springfield at 2 p.m. today.
He lived in Augusta 10 years while he was a Mobil Refinery employee.
He worked as a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper after leaving Mobil.
Survivors include a brother, Givens Bly of Wichita and nieces, Dorothy Anderson and Marge Bolinger of Wichita.
