Sarah A. ‘Sally’ Butcher

Sarah A. “Sally” Butcher, 78, El Dorado, mother of Marylee Guy of Augusta, died on Friday, July 29, 2005.
Memorial services were held today at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Cremation preceded the service.
In addition to her daughter, she is also survived by granddaughter, Megan Parry of Wichita.
Sally was born on Nov. 8, 1926 at Midian, the daughter of Edward and Lydia (Elliott) Zimmerman. She
spent all of her life in this area and graduated from El Dorado High School and from Butler County Community College with the Order of the Gold. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
On Feb. 2, 1946, she married Beecher “Butch” Butcher in El Dorado.
Sally worked for McGinnis and McGinnis Law Firm and later for the Butler County Register of Deeds, until retiring at in 1979.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Butch; her parents; two brothers and grandson, Patrick.
Memorials in her memory for a memorial bench in the
Gardens at Lakepoint Nursing Facility in Augusta.
These donations may be made to her daughter, Marylee Guy and/or Carlson Funeral Home that is assiste-ing the family with the services.

Emery E. Mendenhall

Emery E. Mendenhall, 85, Augusta, retired bricklayer, stonemason, and sheet metal assembler at Cessna Aircraft, died on Friday, July 29, 2005, at Lakeside Home Care in McPherson.
Mr. Mendenhall served in the United States Navy during World War II, Pacific
Theater of Operations.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
His survivor is his son, Kevin Mendenhall of McPherson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Cathryn (Haskins) Mendenhall and sons, Kerry and Stephen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wichita Children’s Home or the Pregnancy Crisis Center of Wichita in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home of McPherson.

William F. ‘Bill’ LeFever

William F. LeFever, 88, Pittsburg, formerly of Augusta, passed away at 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Cornerstone Village in Pittsburg. His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at the First Baptist Church in Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Mr. LeFever was born in Augusta on June 8, 1917, the son of Frank Foster and Emma (Talley) LeFever. He worked as a machinist at Beech, Cessna, and Boeing, and was a farmer. Bill served as a volunteer for the fire department and was a member of the zoning and planning commission in Augusta. He was a member of the local First Baptist Church and a member of the Service Sunday School Class. He was a Master Mason and member of the Scottish Rite.
On April 15, 1939, he married Betty Lou (Knollenberg) at Pawhuska, Okla. She survives at Cornerstone Assisted Living in Pittsburg. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: son, Joe LeFever and his wife, Patty of Pittsburg; grandsons, William F. LeFever II and his wife, DeeDee of Scammon, Matthew R. LeFever of Frontenac, and Darin J. LeFever and wife, Janna of Lenexa; four greatgrandchildren, Devon W., Drake B., Laiken R., and Olivia N. LeFever, all of Scammon.
Memorials may be made to the .First Baptist Church: Building Fund in Augusta. Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chanel of Augusta.
