Jerome Herman Anglemyer

Memorial tonight

Former Augusta resident Jerome Herman Anglemyer, 52, Fairview, Texas died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 in McKinney, Texas.
A local memorial service is planned for 7 p.m. this evening at the Prairie Hills Southern Baptist Church, three miles west of Augusta on U. S. 54 Highway.
Mr. Anglemyer was a computer operator for Yum Brands.
He was born on July 24, 1953 in Winfield. His parents are Lawrence Anglemyer and Elaine (Moon) Thomas.
He married Sherry Loyd Baros on Oct. 25, 2003 in Lucas, Texas.
Mr. Anglemyer was an active leader in the Lily Lake 4-H Club of Butler County as well as 4-H activities of Kansas. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Augusta. He enjoyed golf and hunting.
He served on the Augusta Unified School District 402 School Board for eight years and was past president of that board.
Anglemyer is survived by his wife, Sherry Anglemyer of Fairview, Texas; daughter, Kacy Collinsworth and husband, Dustin; son, Kyle Anglemyer; parents,
Lawrence Anglemyer and Elaine and Bill Thomas; brother, David Anglemyer; sister, Connie Wolf and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Landen and Makenah all of Kansas; and step children, Katie Silber and Josh Baros of Fairview.
He was preceded in death by his birth father, Herman Graham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a memorial fund at the Prairie State Bank to benefit area 4-H Clubs, P.O. Box 520 Augusta, Kansas 67010.
The Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home of Allen, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.

Troy Harold Martin

Troy Harold Martin, 84, Russell, formerly of Augusta, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Russell. Interment will follow in the Russell City Cemetery.
He is survived by: his wife,
Mary A. Martin; daughter, Donnie J. Miller of Russell; son, Terry H. Martin of McKinney, Texas; brother, Ronald Martin of Wichita; sister, Audrey Parkins of Grove, Okla.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Russell.
Pohlman-Heise Mortuary of Russell has charge of the arrangements.

Barbara Ann Lowenstein

Former Augusta resident Barbara Ann Lowenstein, 59, Las Vegas, Nev., passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2005.
Her graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery will be will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3. She will be laid to rest adjacent to her parents, both of whom she loved dearly.
Barbara was born Aug. 23, 1946 at Independence, KS, as the daughter of Gerald Ray and Darlene Evelyn Schlotfelt.
She was the sister of Larry Schlotfelt of Tulsa, Okla., and a true friend to many as well as an aunt to several precious nieces and nephews.
Barbara graduated from Augusta High School in 1964.
She grew up in Augusta and met John L. Lowenstein in the summer of 1970 in Wichita. They were married Feb. 11,1971 and they began a lifelong partnership that
last 35 glorious years. She stood beside John’s side for 25 years while his baseball and broadcasting careers flourished. They toured the world together, stopping in many ports of call.
Barbara was a perfectionist in all that she did. She loved to dance, quilt, read, travel, go to the movies, and play card games.
She enjoyed the holidays as a time of celebration to be with family and friends.
Barbara was a devoted member of Central and Canyon Ridge Christian churches and a tireless volunteer for several church functions.
Everyone who knew Barbara knew that this quiet, unpretentious girl from the Midwest was special in her own way. Her laugh smile will be missed by all.

Palmer A. Lindenman

Palmer A. “Lindy” Lindenman, 82, Wichita, retired Beech Aircraft quality control staff, passed away on Friday, Oct. 28, 2005.
Graveside service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Elmwood
Cemetery in Augusta.
Survivors include: daughters, Melody and Judy Lindenman of Wichita; brother, Jack Lindenman of Arizona; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
Hillside Funeral Home East of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.

Alfaro Jr.

Ralph C. Alfaro Jr., 41, El Dorado, JR’s Market and Deli owner, died on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
He is survived by: mother,
Julia of El Dorado; brothers, John, Tony and Lawrence, all of El Dorado; sisters, Mary Ann Zogleman of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Marcella Martin, Diane Alfaro, Chrisanda Lee Voyles, Marilynn Dobson, and Julia Alfaro, all of El Dorado.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home of El Dorado is handling the arrangements.
