Florence Aileen Thornton
Florence Aileen (Smith) Thornton, 86, Augusta, retired Dairette cook and waitress, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28; funeral service at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29, both at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Those attending should use the 12th Street entrance.
She was born on May 13, 1920 in New Plymouth, Idaho, the daughter of Roy and Nancy (Brotherton) Smith. She married Charles Wesley Thornton on April 16, 1949.
Survivors include: son, Larry Jackson of Topeka; step sons, Charles “Bud” Thornton, Jr. of Douglass and Don Thornton of Oklahoma City; brothers,
Lawrence L. Smith of Longview, Wash.; sister, Irene Taylor of Anderson, Ind.; two step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles; her parents; two step grandchildren; brother, Bill Smith.
Memorials may go to the Augusta Church of the Nazarene.

Janice Alliene Smith
Janice- Alliene Smith, 70, Casper, Wyo., went to be with the Lord on Sept. 19, 2006, after a long battle with lung cancer.
A graveside memorial service was held on Sept. 21, at Highland Cemetery in Casper, Wyo., with Pastor Ron Blavelt of Faith Assembly of God officiating.
She was born on March 24, 1936, in Leon, the daughter of James Monroe Sr. and Lena Mae (Gatewood) Hollis. She was raised in El Dorado and attended schools there.
On Jan. 8,1954, she married Alfred Dill Smith, Sr. in El Dorado. They moved to Casper, Wyo. in 1965. Although, they lived abroad for many years, Casper remained their home.
She enjoyed her extended family and her church. She loved sharing and serving the Lord.
Her survivors include: her husband, Alfred; two daughters, Mildred Duckworth and Sandra Singh; one son, Alfred, Jr., all of Casper, Wyo.; two sisters, Betty Chom of Augusta and Kathy Werner of Casper; one brother, James Monroe Hollis, Jr. of Depoe Bay, Ore.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one aunt, Katherine Sego of Roseville, Calif.; many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Chester Monroe Smith in 1977.
Warren L. Proctor
Warren Lamar Proctor 92, Augusta, passed away or aturday, Sept. 23, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Augusta First United Methodist Church
graveside service with family will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Friends and relatives may call from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. a tie Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado today and Monday, Oct. 2.
He was born on July 24, 1914, the second child Joseph Warren and Martha Marie (Stott) Proctor in Thornburg, Iowa. He lived in Thornburg, Wayland, an Jedrick, Iowa until the family moved to Gooding, Idaho. He graduated from Gooding High School in 1931. 1
1936, he graduated from the University of Kansas, whei ae received a B.S. i Chemical Engineering. Later, he earned his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Wichita State University.
He and Margaret Louise Coutant were married in 1936. The celebrated almost 64 years of marriage prior her death in January 2000. He later married Capitola Simpson.
His first job was with Vickers Petroleum in Potwin. He and his family moved Augusta in November, 1941 where he was employed the Socony Vacuum Oil Company, later Mobil Oil Corporation. From 1959 to 1961, he worked for Mobil de Venezuela. He retired from the Augusta refinery in 1978.
He was involved for many years in Boy Scout leadership and received the Silver Beaver Award. He was active in the Augusta First United Methodist Church and was a member of the choir for 60 years, Rotary Club for over 50 years, and served on the Augusta USD 402 Board of Education from 1951 to 1955.
His survivors include: his wife, Capitola of the home; four children, Anne Williams (Fred) of Victoria, Texas, Robert Proctor (Ilene) of El Dorado, Elaine Cannon (Jim) of Lenexa, and Martha Riedl (Joe) of Leon; 11 grandchildren, Stephen,
Thomas and James Williams, Alice, Wayne, and Alan Proctor, Rachel, Kelly and Wes Cannon, and Kay and Michael Riedl; four greatgrandchildren; and
Capitola’s children, Lynn Simpson, Louise Reimer and Glennis Peterman.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, Margaret; brother, George Proctor; sister, Dorothy Britton.
The family wishes to thank Zora Graves, friend and companion, for her kind and dedicated assistances both Warren and Capitola.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Augusta First United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
