Ruby Mae Hatter
Ruby Mae (Wakefield) Hatter, 55, Tulsa, Okla, formerly of Leon, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, after battling cancer.
Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., this evening; additional viewing 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, at Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home, 2103 E. 3rd St., Tulsa.
Ruby was born in El Dorado on Sept. 15, 1952.. She grew up in Leon and graduated from Leon High School in 1970. She loved spending time with family and friends, swimming, bowling, and fishing.
Ruby is survived by her husband of 35 years, Sammy Hatter; daughters,, Stephanie Hatter of Tulsa and Mary (Manny) Sanchez; her beloved granddaughter, Stephanie Veronica of Brandon, Fla.; brothers, Earl Wakefield of El Dorado, and Leonard Wakefield of Augusta; in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephew, and lots of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oran and Mary (McVay) Wakefield.
Family suggests contributions be made to the Walkway of Courage at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, (918-286-5502).
Eldon D. Jones
Eldon D. Jones, 72, Augusta, retired Vulcan Materials over-the-road driver, U.S. Navy veteran,
passed away, Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008.
Visitation with family greeting friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday.
Funeral service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, both at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home.
Survivors: wife Jody; sons Richard (Patty), Robert (Kerry); daughter, Cheryl (Steve); 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents Elno and Gladys Jones, three brothers, infant sister and two grandsons.
Arrangements by Dunford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta.Memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or The Lord’s Diner in care of the funeral home.
Phyllis L. Jolly
Phyllis L. Jolly, 82, formerly of Augusta, retired bookkeeper, died on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008.
Visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta. Graveside service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. Those attending should use the Ohio St. entrance.
Survivors include: children, Robert (Valerie), and Gwenda (Tom Signorelli) Buhle; three grandchildren, Jennie Gatchell, Chris and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Shelby Gatchell and Meckenzie Meulemans; sister, Francis Moore; friend, Pepper; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Wayne E. Jolly; parents, Charles and Lena Gwin; sister, Nelle (Joel) Bacon; brother-in-law, Berle More; and grandson, Robert Benn.
She was a member of the Illinois Prairie Painters Association, was an avid square dancer, loved camping, fishing and golf.
