Mickey (Rose) Clay

Mickey (Rose) Clay, La Harpe, Kan., formerly of Augusta, passed away on Friday, July 11,2008.
Service arrangements are pending.
Survivors: children, Karen Blackston and Kenneth Rose; grandchildren, Guy Blackston; numerous other relatives.

Helen Auernheimer

Helen Maxine (Taylor) Auernheimer, 86, Goessel, formerly of Augusta, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2008.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at
Miller Funeral Home in Goessel. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, at the Goessel Mennonite Church. Burial will be at the Hesston City Cemetery in Hesston.
Mrs. Auernheimer was born on Nov. 12, 1921 in Augusta to Thomas William and Una May (Patterson) Taylor. She was a graduate of Augusta High School. On June 8, 1941 she married Edgar Willis “Ed” Auernheimer in Augusta.
She worked many years in housekeeping at Presbyterian Manor at Newton.
She is survived by: her husband; five children, Lynn Auernheimer (Maxine O'Neill) of Canton, Cheryl Hoffman of Carlsbad, Calif., Carol Gibbens of Halstead, Joan Jacobsen of Newton, and Anthony “Tony” (Audrey) Auernheimer of Salina; two granddaughters, Terri Schyrock of Wichita and Vickie Hiebert of Goessel; four grandsons, Scot Gibbens of Newton, Jason Gibbens of Apex, NC, Allan Gibbens of Newton, and Adam Auernheimer of Salina; step-grandson, Jack Lyon of Goessel; step-granddaughters, Kellie Holland of Derby, Jamie Remsberg of Newton, and Jadlyn O’Neill of Canton; great-grandchildren, Brian, Ashley and Kendall Hiebert of Goessel; step-great-
grandchildren, Kadin, Maggie and Jonah Remsberg of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Juanita Malan, Lorene Powers, Rosalie Powers, Sarah June Taylor, and Norma Jean Taylor; brothers, George Taylor and Thomas L. Taylor.
Memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation in care of Miller Funeral Home, Goessel.

R. Michael Lawrence

R. Michael Lawrence, 63, of Augusta, died, Monday, July 14, 2008 at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita surrounded by his family.
A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Headley Fu-n e r a 1 Chapel, Augusta.
Mike was born in El Dorado on April 13, 1945; the son of R. A. "Dutch" and Frances (Kennedy) Lawrence.
He graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School and later from Washburn University in Topeka. He had served on active duty for the National Guard 69th
Brigade in Colorado.
Mike had worked as a salesman most of his life for various companies.
He was a former owner/broker of a Realty Executive Premier branch in Kansas City and owner of Vision Financial also.
Mike served on the Augusta Senior Center Board of Directors and was a member of the Tuesday Cottonwood Point Poker crew. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Mike was a talented gardener and a loyal friend to all he met.
He is survived by: fiance, Marcia Graf; mother, FrancesLawrence, both of Augusta; daughters, Kimberly Poores and husband, Shawn of Prairie Village;-and Michelle Nickolett and husband Steve of-Overland Park; sister, Susan Bartel and husband; Harlan of Augusta; grand: children, Michael Deegan; and Ian Bennett Poores and Ethan Michael, Erica and Libby Nickolett.
He was preceded in death by his father,; "Dutch."
Memorials to the Augusta Senior Center.
