Esther Lela Wills
Esther Lela (Fast) Wills, 92, passed away, Saturday, Dec.6, 2008.
Viewing from 1 to 5 p.m. today, at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta.
Funeral service at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at the Augusta Church of Christ.
Esther was born in Liberal, to Orville and Lavinia (Jackson) Fast. She marrried Raymond “Ray” Wills on Aug. 18, 1949 in Haviland. Esther was her high school valedictorian, a Harvey Girl, jewelry store employee, waitress where she met Ray, bookkeeper, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the first female postal carrier in Ventura County, Calif.
Survivors include: her three sons and their wives, Carl and Lynne Wills of Ehrensburg, Ariz., Loyd and Jean Wills
of Haysville, John and Kathy Wills of Derby; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sela Rajean Wills; seven brothers and one sister.
Memorials to Maude Carpenters Children Home, 1501 N. Meridian, Wichita, KS 67203, or in care of Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta.
Lorraine E. Sheets
Lorranie E. Sheets, 90, Douglass, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 6,2008.
Visitation with family until 8 p.m., this evening at Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, at the Douglass Christian Church.
He was born in Oct. 1918 in Arcadia, the son of Bernie and Ethel Sheets. He retired from Boeing after 31 years and was retired from farming. He was a WWII veteran and married Wandalee Williams in 1940. They were blessed with six girls and one boy.
Survivors include: Kathleen Bono, Pat Pay-ton, Linda Breckinridge, Peggy Jo Barnhart, Joyce Smith, and Connie Sheets; 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda and daughter, Vickie Watkins.
Memorials have been established with Shriners’ Hospital for Crippled Children, 130 N. Topeka, Wichita, KS 67202.
