Brock James Phillips
Brock James Phillips, 25, El Dorado, quality control manager for Val-mont Industries, died on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Funeral service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado. Interment will be in the Leon Cemetery.
Brock was born on Sept. 30, 1983 in Wichita, the son of Ted and Elicia (Wade) Phillips.
He graduated from Bluestem High School in 2002 and then joined
the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan for four years.
He was currently attending Butler Community College.
On July 3, 2005, he married Deanna Cornish in Leon.
Survivors include: his wife and daughter, Emma of the home; father and stepmother, Ted and Dana Phillips of Augusta; mother, Elicia Driskell of Olathe; brothers, Andrew Phillips and Bailey Phillips, both of Augusta; sisters, Jessica Phillips, El Dorado and Quinci Driskell, Kansas City, Kan.; grandmothers, Beverly Robinson of Andover and Elicia Ferrell of Olathe; two nieces, three nephews, and many loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jim Robinson, William Phillips, Earl Schnake, and his Uncle George Schnake.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial to a fund for his children.

Henry “Hank” Neely, Jr.
Henry M. "Hank" Neely, Jr., 83, of Augusta, passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009.
Hank was born in Texico, N.M. on Nov. 30, 1925; the son of the late Henry Mason and Elsie (Cross) Neely.
After graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in the community of Pleasant Hill, N.M., he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Donna Dee Price on June 29, 1945 in Columbus, Kan. Hank received his bachelors and masters degrees in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University.
He started his career as the assistant dean of the mechanical engineering department at K.S.U. Neely was a pioneer in establishing KTI/KSU in Salina, Kan., where he
served as the first president of the school after the closing of Schilling Air Force Base. He retired as a mechanical engineer from Boeing. His retirement years were spent with his wife managing their ranch near Latham.
He is survived by: his wife, Dee of Augusta; son, James Price Neely and wife Marla of Derby; sister, Jimmye Donahey of Clovis, N.M.; and two grand daughters, Lindsey and Arin Neely.
Viewing 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, with family to greet friends from 6-8 p.m. and service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Latham Cemetery.

Wanda Marie Miller
Wanda Marie Miller, 86, Wichita, sister of Ted Frazee of Andover, died on Friday, Aug. 28, 2009.
Funeral service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington.
Other survivors include: son, Mike Miller; daughter, Michele Stanfield; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
