Accident Claims Woman’s Life
Ruth Lacy, 28, Wichita, wife of Terry Lacy, formerly of Augusta, died Thursday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Wichita from injuries suffered in a traffic accident.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Liberal. Rev. Don McCracken will officiate and burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.
The accident reportedly occurred about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lincoln and I-35 as Lacy’s westbound Volkswagen was making a left hand turn to go onto I-35.
Wichita police officer Victor Cawthorn said Lacy’s car was struck by a vehicle driven by Kenneth A. Cline Jr., 19, Wichita.
Neither Cline nor a passenger in his car suffered serious injuries. Charges are pending.
Mrs. Lacy was born Sept. 23, 1955 in Beaver, Okla., to Roy and Gertrude Stranska Borden.
She married Terry Dean Lacy Oct. 14,1978 in Wichita. He survives.
She was a secretary and a member of the First Baptist Church in Liberal.
Survivors include parents, Roy and Gertrude Borden of Liberal; sisters, Beth Koehn of Liberal and Donna McGee of Cloudcroft, N.M., and Royanna Jean Borden of Liberal.
Mother Dies At 81 In Texas
Martha Louise Lynn, 81, Brady, Texas, mother of Ione Dennett of Augusta, died there Sunday.
Her funeral was Tuesday at the Colonial Funeral Home at Brady. Burial was in the Cowboy Cemetery there.
She was born July 26, 1902 in Gage, Okla., to Frank and Iona Curtis Burner.
She married Omer Lynn March 12, 1921 in Wichita. He survives.
Mrs. Lynn lived in Augusta until she moved to Brady 15 years ago. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Brady.
Survivors also include daughters, June Lone of Brady and Joyce Martin of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Maud Poindexter of Okeene, Okla.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Barr Rites Today
Elizabeth P. Barr, 84, 2101 Dearborn, died Friday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. today at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Don Seels officiated and burial was in the Lerado, Kan., cemetery near Hutchinson.
She was born July 8, 1899 in Vanderbilt, Pa., to Robert William and Della C. Dunlap
Patterson.
She married Robert T. Barr March 5, 1932 in Kansas City, Mo. He survives.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Augusta.
Other survivors include daughters, Dana Shipley of Wichita, Beverly Todd of Perryton, Texas, Pam McNutt of Augusta, Betty Day of Pretty Prairie; a brother, James Patterson of Billings, Mont.; sisters, Maye Hockaday of Fresno, Calif., Dorothy Boyer, Inez Hannon and Edna Ruckdeshell, all of Kansas City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Juanita Jones Died In Wichita
Juanita Mae Jones, 61, Wichita, died today at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center there.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Toronto. Burial will be there.
There will be a viewing for friends at the Dunsford Funeral Home until 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
She was born Nov. 3, 1922 in Toronto to George and Anna Witte Morgan.
She married Paul E. Jones Jan. 16, 1943 in Eureka. He survives.
She retired from Dillons Grocery here in 1983 after working there eight years. Prior to that she had worked at the IGA store for 10 years.
Other survivors include a son, Jerry C. of Wichita; brothers, Irvin Morgan of Eureka and Johnny Morgan of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Margaret Hogle of Toronto, Maxine Jones of Iola and Anna Maude Carboneau of Rose Hill; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Lee and Ralph Morgan, preceded her in death.
The Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka will have charge of services in Toronto.

Edna V. Smith, 89, El Dorado, sister of Grace Davison of Augusta, died Thursday at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton.
Her service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. LeRoy Smoot will officiate and burial wil be at the Sunset Lawn Cemetery there.
She was born May 27, 1894 in Grand Island, Ne., to E.J. and Betty Kelly Howell.
She married Ray L. Smith Dec. 19, 1917 in Kansas City, Mo. He survives.
She was a member of the Junior Domestic Science Club and the First United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include a son, Ray of Wichita, and a grandson.
