Homer Bair
Harold Homer Bair, 84, Augusta, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009.
Vi ew-ing 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at Headley Funeral Chapel and serv-
ice 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at First Baptist Church in Augusta, KS.
Burial will be at the Burden Cemetery, Burden, Kan.
Homer was born in Clayton, New Mexico on July 19, 1925, the son of the late Ola and Anna (Wilkerson) Bair.
In 1950 he married Aileen Champlin. Homer retired from the U.S. Army as a Major.
He served in W.W. II, the Korean War and Vietnam.
He then worked as the city clerk in Winfield, city clerk in Olathe, city manager in Ulysses, and retired as the city manager from the City of Augusta in 1992.
In addition to his wife he is survived by sons, Harold Bair Jr. and wife Ginny of Fargo, ND and John Bair and wife Kathie of Wichita; sisters, Wanda Mackey and hus-band Richard of Burden;
Vivian Shaver and husband Gerald of Douglass; snd Eula Mae Martin of Dexter; grandchildren, Dennis, Elizabeth, Patricia, Louise Bair; Lisa and John Evans; six great grandchildren; son-in law, Mark Evans of Portland, Oregon; and sisters-in-law, Eleanor and Sara Bair.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Marsha Evans; brothers, Orville and Gene;
sisters, Beatrice Waymar, Oleta Shields and Lenora Henderson.
Arrangements by Headley Funeral Chapel Augusta.
