Edwin A. "Ed" Dennett, 92, Augusta, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009.
Viewing 1-5 p.m., with family present from 2-4 p.m.

at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2,2009, at the First Christian Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Edwin was born in Wichita on June 17, 1917, the son of the late Joseph Henry and Clara Ann (Lackey) Dennett. Ed had been a farmer, deputy sheriff and marshal, worked as an operator at Mobil Oil Refinery, and he re-
tired as a chemical plant operator from Vulcan Chemicals in 1982. On Dec. 29,
1939, he married Martha E. Malone in Beaver, Okla. She survives.
He is also survived by: daughters, Lawana Dieckman and husband Jerry of Wichita and Lana Rummell and husband Charlie of Niceville, Fla.; sisters, Thelma Armstrong and Eva Sloss of Denver; grandchildren, Terri Dirks (Earl), Angela Gray (Bret) and Kurt Rummell; great-grandchildren, Logan Dirks, Delaney and Darby Gray.
Memorials to the First Christian Church, Augusta or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.

Charles Lee Riegel, 66, Derby, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Oct 31, at Crossroads Baptist Church, 11441 E. Central, Wichita.
Survivors daughters, Stephanie (Mike) Hopper of Andover and Ellen of Wichita; son, Charles Riegel of Wichita; mother, Pearl Cochran of Wichita; brothers, Rick (Kathy) Lawrence and Bill (Patty) Riegel; sisters, Connie (Thurman) Miller, Margaret (Arlin) Beavers, Jeanne Rose and Millie (Joe) Ma-tusik; three grandchildren.
Preceded in death by father, Oscar Riegel and a brother, Jim Riegel.

Donald Aaron Smith
Donald A. Smith, formerly of El Dorado, died on Oct. 21, 2009, in Dallas, Texas. ' A memorial service
will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the El Dorado Christian Fellowship, 1000 Country Club Lane, El Dorado.
He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve and the Marine Corps before and during the Korean War.
He was retired from Eldorado-Fina and Pester Refinery in 1975 and then worked for Blackburn Construction for 20 years.
Survivors include: daughter Sheri (Larry) Herold of Terrell, Texas;
son, Michael Smith of Seattle, Wash.; granddaughter, Courtney (Shannon) Burns and great-granddaughter, Chainey Davis of Austin, Texas; brother, Jerry (Janice) Smith of El Dorado; step daughters, Belinda McKay of Denham Springs, La. and Leisa (Mark) Wessels of Augusta; step son, Allen (Kathy) Webster of El Dorado; numerous nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Lola Lee, 61, Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009.
Funeral services are pending with Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta.

Emma Esther (Newberry) Applegate, 85, Wichita, mother and mother-in-law of Brenda and Jeff Granger of Douglass, died on Oct. 31, 2009.
Visitation with family present 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Mortuary, Wichita.
Funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, at West Side Church of the Nazarene.
Other survivors: sons, Warren, Roger, and Melvin; daughter, Lynda Applegate; sister, Dorothy Falconburg; two grandsons.
Arrangements by Broadway Mortuary, Wichita.

Tony Ray “Koot” Beavers, 56, Wichita, father and father-in-law of Rebecca (Sunny) Smith of Andover, died on Nov 2, 2009.

Funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Central Christian Church.
Other survivors: wife, LeAnn; children, Ruthann Ferrel, Clint Heitman, Katrina Brewster, and Cori Heitman;
brothers, Terry, Thurman, and Ricky; sisters, Patty Amrein and Daisy Elswick; 14 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
