Elaine Thomas
Elaine Thomas, 77, Augusta, insurance agent, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010, at her residence.
Visitation with the family will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, at the Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. A service to celebrate her life will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Graveside will follow at 3 p.m., in Tisdale Cemetery, rural Winfield.
Elaine was born in Winfield on June 27,1932; she was the daughter of the late Harold and Rowena (Linnens) Moon. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1950 and attended Southwestern College in Winfield. She was an active member of First Southern Baptist Church, Augusta, and loved serving the Lord. She had served as Community Leader of Lily Lake 4-H Club, Augusta USD 402 School Board, Downtown Augusta Inc, Augusta Chamber of Commerce and Business Professional Women. She married William J. “Bill” Thomas on March 2, 1979, at the First Christian Church in Augusta. In addition to her husband she is survived by: daughter, Connie Wolf and husband Randy; gon, David Anglemyer and wife Polly Elliott all of Augusta; daughter-in-law, Sherry Anglemyer of Fairview, Texas; step son, Marc Thomas and wife Shantel of Junction City, Kan.; step daughter, Michelle Higgins and husband Tracy of El Dorado; sister, Janice Filbert of Kirksville, Mo.; grandchildren, Kacy (Dustin) Collinsworth, Kyle Anglemyer, Brent (Megan) Wolf, Lindsey Wolf, Derek Anglemyer, Danyel Anglemyer, Chaena Lane, McKenna Lane, Daan Thomas, Tiffany Hiebert, Michael (Heather) Higgins, Derek Higgins, Rachel Higgins, Katie (Kyle) Silber, Josh (Koi) Baros; and great grandchildren, MaKenah Collinsworth, Landen Collinsworth, Norah Wolf and Talya Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman Graham; son, Jerome Anglemyer and a brother, Royce Moon.
Memorials to the Elaine Thomas Memorial Fund do Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
