Deaths & Services

Lennie Elliot

Lennie Elliott, 69 of Augusta and formerly of El Dorado, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26 at Carlson Funeral Home,
El Dorado. Interment will follow in Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
Lennie was born on Jan. 24, 1941 in Hamilton, Kan., the daughter of Carl V. and Minnie (Buffington) Owen. She graduated from Hamilton High School and had also attended Butler Community College. On May 28, 1961 she married Donald L. Elliott in Hamilton. She was a bookkeeper and had served as executive director for Mid-Cap. She had made her home in the El Dorado area since 1984. She was a member of Church of Christ, Augusta,
Lennie had a great sense of humor and had an enthusiasm for life that brightened all around her. She brought laughter and love to all of those who knew her.
Those who survive include: her husband Donald, of the home; her children, Dawna Gillespie (Bart) of El Dorado, Stephanie Cox (Michael) of Andover, Randall Elliott, Wichita; grandchildren, Clayton and Ashton Elliott, Joshua and Jennifer Lauber, Aubriawna Leadstrom, Amberel Macdermant, and Regan Gillespie; great-grand children Kye Davenport and Dax Macdermant;
brothers, Darien, Lloyd and Carl Owen; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
Memorials in her memory for either the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation may be left with Carlson Funeral Home where friends may call.

Debra L. Cornwell

The world has lost the ultimate bargain shopper: Look out outlet malls in heaven! Debra Lynn Cornwell, 55, Augusta, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010.
Memorial service 1 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Debra was born in Wichita on May 23,1955, the daughter of Pat and Francine (Corley) Small. She had worked as executive secretary for Lawrence Photography. On Nov. 17,1995 she married David Cornwell in Wichita.
Debra is survived by husband, David; daughter, Jayme Hybsha of Sedgwick; step daughters, Monica Walton and husband Donovan of Kansas City, Mo., Aubrey Neill and husband Brian
of Wichita, and Carrie Cornwell of Kansas City, Mo.; brother, Danny Small and wife Ginger of El Dorado; sisters, Candy Livengood of Augusta, Sandy Allen and husband Tom of Hot Springs, Ark. and Shelly Vail and husband Joe of Wichita; grandchildren, Austin, Trevor, Andrew, Conner, Alii, Madison, Emma.
She was preceded in death by parents and a brother, George.

Scotty L. Rader

Scotty L. Rader, 75, of Augusta, passed away, Wednesday, June 23, 2010.
Service 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26,2010 at the Udall First Foursquare Church, Udall. Burial will be at Wilmot Cemetery.
Scotty was born in Dodge City, Kan. on Dec.
25,1934 to the late William Morris and Maude Virginia (Null) Rader. He worked as a Construction Estimator at Boeing and was a retired pastor. He served in Ebe U.S. Navy iM”" during the Korean War
as well. On Dec. 10,1955 he married Betty C. (Howard) in Newkirk, Okla..
He is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Betty; sons, David Rader of Augusta; Jim Rader (Cindy) of Derby; and Joel Rader of Wichita; daughter, Christy Goodwin (Jerry) of Webb City, Mo.; sister in law, Beulah Rader of Valley Center; grandchildren, Sarah Rader, Blake Rader, Dilon Rader, Kaylee Conner, Annie Goodwin and Carson Goodwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bill Dean; and a daughter in law, Linda "Susie" Rader.
