Virginia Provorse
Virginia Provorse, 93, of El Dorado, passed away on July 18,2010.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, at the Christian Church in Barnsdall, Okla., and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in El Dorado. Interment was in Oklahoma.
She was born on May 14, 1917 to Joseph and Myrtle (Wright) Long in Altoona, Kan. She married Hiram Provorse on June 6,1938 in Wynona, Okla. Virginia worked as an insurance agent until her retirement in 1979, and she enjoyed painting. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in El Dorado.
She is survived by: sons, John (Mary) of El Dorado, Gerald (Marsha) of San Antonio, Texas and Carl of Chicago, 111., a brother, Joseph Long of Pawhuska, Okla., seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister,
Josephine Ziegler of Wichita and nephew Paul Long of Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local food pantry

Teagan Rose Clem, beautiful baby girl, was stillborn Aug. 15, 2010 to mother, Amy Clem of Park City, Kan.
While we never experienced the joy she had to share, she touched the lives of many and will always be loved. Left to honor her memory along with her mother are: grandparents, Susan and Jerry Clem of Augusta; uncle, Andrew Clem of Park City; great grandmothers, Geneva Demel of Rose Hill and Dean Clem of Kansas City, Kan.; and countless other family and friends.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Mass is at 11 a.m. Sat. August 21, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Augusta. Memorials may be given in her memory to Via Christi Foundation -

James McCluggage, 84, Douglass, retired rural mail carrier and U.S.
Navy WWII veteran, died Tuesday, Aug. 17,2010.
Visitation 1-8 p.m., with family present from 6 -8 p.m. today at Hil-yard-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20,
2010 at the Douglass Church of Christ.
Survivors include: wife, Merlene; daughter, Janice (Gary) Northam; son, Mark (Christy); daughter-in-law, Angie McCluggage; sisters, Marciele Hicks (Leslie), Madge Lewis (Claude), Marilyn Allen (Jimmy); 9 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Douglass Church of Christ Children's Department, Carpenter Place, 1501 N. Meridan, Wichita; and
Cancer Center of Kansas, 700 W. Central, El Dorado, KS.

Betty J. Scott
Betty Scott, 80, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, retired Beech Aircraft employee, died Tuesday, Aug. 17,2010.
She was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie L. Scott and her parents Edith and Gilbert Ohmart.
Survivors include her sons Johnnie L. II of Wichita and Bruce W of Rose Hill; four daughters, Janet Scott, Colleen Dennis, Shelly Scott and Brandi Scott, all of Wichita; six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Fri. Aug, 20, 2010 at the Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at noon.
Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the family.
