Robert E. Freeman
Robert E. Freeman, 75, Wichita, business owner and entrepreneur, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010.
Memorial service 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at First Pentecostal Church.
Preceded in death by wife, Geri Freeman.
Survivors: children, Glenn Freeman (Mary) of Topeka, Frank Freeman (Ted Haek) of South Africa, Shelly Freeman (Kim Jones) of Kansas City, Mo., and Barbara Freeman-Schweitzer (Tim) of Augusta; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS, 67219.
Arrangements by Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, Wichita.
Henry Hagedom
Henry A. Hagedorn, Sr., 87, of Shawnee, Safeway stores manager and WWII veteran, passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents Alvin H. and Minnie (Flaspohler) Hagedorn
day, Oct. 20, 2010.
Visitation 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, at Smith Mortuary in Derby. Rosary at 7 p.m.Tuesday; funeral mass at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, both at St. Mary Faith Center, 2300 E. Meadowlark.
Survivors include: sisters, Diane Brewer of Virginia Beach, Va., Pamela (Riley) Trew of North Platte, Neb., and Marcella (Daniel) Lord of Augusta; daughters, Rachel (Damon) Ross, Amanda (Chris Webster) Wallace, Sarah (Robert) Gulick, all of Wichita; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to www.curepc.com, or St. Mary Faith Center Building Fund.
Rodney G. Allen
Rodney G. Allen, 68, a resident of Lakeview,
Ark., formerly of Augusta, passed Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the . Christian Church of Mountain Home, very active in disaster relief programs and Samaritan’s Purse.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at the Christian Church in Mountain Home, Ark.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the church. Rodney was preceded death by.his parents

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Winfield.

Don Lyon
Don Lyon, 70, Wichita, passed away Oct. 23, 2010.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Lake-view Funeral Home, Wichita. Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday at East Point Church of Christ located at 747 N. 127th E. __________________________________________________________________________________________Don was born Sept. 21, 1926 in Leon, the son of David Ralph and Anne May (Piper) Holt.
He was a veteran of
WWII serving in the US Navy from 1945-1946. Being a WWII veteran he had the opportunity to take the Honor Flight in May to Washington D.C. to see the Veterans Memorial.
Don married Dorothy Bogue on Oct. 30,1946 in Douglass. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church since 1963, where he was a Deacon there for many years. He served as treasurer for Kaw Valley Association Southern Baptist for 28 years and treasurer for Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) for 18 years. He was a volunteer for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). He was a member of the Arab Shrine Temple and a 33rd degree Mason. Don was a sales agent for State Farm Insurance retiring in 1991. He was an avid golfer, golfing with the Forbes Men Golf League. Don enjoyed hunting, traveling and his family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dawna Marie Covington Kent, and 10 siblings.
He is survived by: wife of 64 years, Dorothy “Dottye” Holt, Topeka;
Whiteker. He was a graduate of Blackwell High School. On Sept. 18, 1949, he married Joanna P. Morgan at El Dorado. He was the Chief Administrator for Linde Oxygen and Acetyline Plant, retiring in 1980, after 32 years of service.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Jo Beth Bennett in 1999.
He is survived by: his wife, Joanna Whiteker of Wichita; sons, Larry and wife Jacqueline Whiteker of Augusta;, and Mark Whiteker and his companion Debi Helliker of Wichita; brother, Lonnie Whiteker of Danville; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
