Clare Patterson, Jr.

Clare Patterson, Jr., 72, of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of rural Butler County, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 3,2011.
A memorial service at the family farm will be held in July.
He is survived by: his wife, Helen; son, Anthony Wade (Karen) Patterson of Augusta; daughter, Robin C. Parezanine of Palm Desert, Calif.; brothers, Dalton (Sonya) Patterson, and Alan (Barbara) Patterson, all of Augusta; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may go to the Humane Society.

Geraldine B. Jones

Geraldine B. Jones, 90, Augusta, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8,2011.
Viewing 1-5 p.m. Thursday at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Graveside service 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11 at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Those attending should use the 12th Street entrance.
Geraldine was born in Augusta on Aug. 2,1920, the daughter of the late Lex Henry and Rosalie Irene (Dougan) Jones. Geraldine was a telephone operator until "dial-up" started, she then worked for the City of Augusta as a billing clerk for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by a brother Lex W. Jones and a sister Jean E. Jones.
She is survived by a brother, Fred Jones of Sun City West, Ariz., and nieces.

John Cox Sr.

John R. Cox, Sr., 77, retired field supervisor for City of Wichita Zoning, Building and Elevator Inspection, Wichita, passed away Friday, Feb. 4,2011.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
He served in the United States Army. He is survived by: his wife, Beverly; sons, J.R. Cox Jr. and wife Clarissa of Augusta, and Kevin Cox and wife Rachel of Kansas City, Mo.; step-sons, Tim, Mark and Gary Stephenson; three stepdaughters, Linda Ernst, Lisa Cherney and Cheryl Stephenson. 16 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are established with the American Cancer Society.

Agnes Sturgis

Agnes Marie Sturgis, 82, passed unto God’s 1 graces Monday, Feb,7, 2011 in Springfield, Mo.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, Springfield, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Springfield National Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 25, 1928 in California Mo., to Wyona (Crawford) and Peter Baker. On April 12, 1947 Agnes was united in marriage to Hugh B. Sturgis and they shared 44 years of life and love together.
She was a devout Catholic who, until failing health prevented, rarely missed Sunday Mass. Quick with a laugh she brightened the lives of everyone who knew her. Her positive and generous personality was a comfort to all around her no matter the circumstances. Agnes enjoyed dancing, gardening, embroidering and jigsaw puzzles but, taking care of her family brought her the most joy She was an excellent cook and no holiday was complete without her pies, cakes and other wonderful dishes.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and son-in-law, Michael Havens.
Agnes is survived by: her daughters, Sara Taylor (Richard), Rhonda Rountree (Rex), Kim Havens, and her son Stephen (Brooke); brother, Wallace Baker ol Columbia, Mo.; her sister, Mary Bealer of Houston, Texas; two grandsons, Nathan and Jacob Havens; two granddaughters, Jennifer Londagin and Rebecca Metcalf ;three greatgrandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the Arbors at Ravenwood, and Regional Care Hospice, whose kindness and compassion was so appreciated during this difficult time.
