Geraldine Pippin
88, AUGUSTA

Geraldine Pearl (Burns) Pippin, 88, Augusta, passed away Thursday, Sept.22, 2011, at Lakepoint of Augusta.
Visitation with family greeting friends will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct.1, at Dunsford Funeral Home & Creamatory, Augusta. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Geraldine was born March 19,1923, to John Jack and Leoria (Tatroe) Burns in Augusta. She graduated from Augusta High School and attended two years of college. On June 1,1939, she married Herman M. Pippin in Newkirk, Okla. Geraldine was a member of the First Christian Church in Augusta, a homemaker, a cook at Lincoln School and retired as a ward clerk at Wesley Hospital in Wichita.
Her survivors include: her sons and their wives, Keith and Priscilla Pippin of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Jack and Jan Pippin of Wichita; five grandchildren, Vandy Ray,
Scott Pippin, Thumper Johnson, Jackie Green and Anthony VantLeven; seven great-grandchildren, Nick Ray, Zack Ray, Alecia Pippin, Ashley Pippin, Mariah Green, D. J. Green and Alexandra Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; daughter, Theta Jean Johnson; brothers, Oliver, Clayton and Gerald Bums; a sister, Geneva Reed.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church 1600 State Street, Augusta, KS 67010, or in care of the funeral home.

82, WICHITA

Elaine A. Booth, 82, homemaker, Wichita, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011.
Funeral Mass was held Monday morning, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wichita.
She is survived by: her son, Kelly (Jackie), of Wichita; daughters, Cathy Hammans (John), Vicki Wright (Joe), both of Wichita, Mary Phillips (Patrick), of Augusta, Julie Kaiser (Alan), of Kechi; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Lucille Van De Walle, and her husband, James Boothe.
Memorials have been established with the Priest Retirement & Education Fund (PREF), for the benefit of Seminarian Education, 424 North Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202, and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Inc, 313 South Market, Wichita, KS 67202.

Lorna Rose Holmes
52, EL DORADO

After a short battle with cancer Lorna Rose Holmes, 52, of El Dorado went to be with her Lord, on Saturday, Sept. 24 at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.
Visitation with family present will from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30; services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, both at Carlson Funeral Home,
El Dorado. Cremation will take place before the funeral services.
Lorna was born on June 28,1959 in Great Bend, the daughter of Keith and Lorraine Holmes. She graduated from Great Bend High School in 1977; received a BS Degree from WSU; her Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Emporia State. She was involved in teaching and education most of her career. She was high school English teacher at Coffeyville and El Dorado. In addition, she was a transition coordinator and teacher of the visually impaired for the Butler County Special Education Co-op.
Lorna was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa; enjoyed reading, movies, baking, and traveling.
She is survived by: her mother, Lorranie; a brother and his wife, Jon and Annie Holmes, Wellington; sisters and their husbands, Jan and Allan Milbradt, Augusta, and Christy and Roland Davis, El Dorado; nieces and nephews, Jake Mil-brad, Delaney Milbrad, Joshua Holmes, Micah Holmes, Mason Holmes, Eliot Holmes, Barrett Voisin, Dex Voisin, Clay Voisin, Luke Davis, Michelle Davis, Kristi Davis, and Bryan Davis; many cousins and her three cats Simon, Shoe, and Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her father Keith.
