67, TOWANDA

Jerry Lee Thomas, 67, Towanda, retired self- employed washer/dryer and floor covering repair man passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at his | home.
Viewing | will be held from 1-6 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012; funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, all at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta. Interment to follow in Green Valley Cemetery in Furley, Kan.
Jerry was born Feb.23, 1945, to James and Ruby (Mash) Thomas in Ada Valley, Ark. He married Carolyn "Sue" Stanford on June 23, 1969, in Tupelo, Miss.
Survivors include: his wife Sue of the home; daughters, Cindy McCarrier of Corpus Christi, Texas and Melissa (Jeramy) Behrens of Andover; mother, Ruby Kennedy of Augusta; brothers, John (Patti) Thomas and Charlie Kennedy, all of Augusta; sisters, Daphine (Danny) Robbins of Augusta, Montine (Mel) Heinrich of Bra-man, Okla., Wanda Hatt-away of Augusta, Joyce (Bob) Whitson of Augusta, Lynette (Richard) Du Bois of Wichita, Brenda (Brad) Willour of Har-risonville, Mo.; his grandchildren, Chad, Brett and Breeanna Courtney and Ashton Thomas.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father James Thomas.

Thomas Herold
83, ORLANDO, FLA.

Thomas Edward Herold, 83, of Orlando, Fla., and formerly of Augusta, died June 24, 2012.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
A hometown memorial service for Tom Herold, his sister Donna Beisel and her husband, Bill Beisel will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Yates Center, Kan.
Tom was a retired lineman at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. with 40 years of service and United States Army Veteran serving in Germany.
Tom was born July 6, 1928, in Woodson County, Kansas to Edward and Hazel (Mentzer) Herold. On Feb. 12,1955 he married Betty Pritchard and she preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his parents andhis sister Donna Beisel.
He is survived by: his children, Brad Herold and wife, Becky of Augusta, Brent Herold and wife Darcy of Wichita, and Todd Herold and partner Warren Gordon of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; sisters, Edna Hughes of Flint, Texas, Laura Smith of Wichita; brother, Robert Herold of Neal, Kan.; grandchildren, Danylle and Jason; and dear friend, Peter Cleary of Orlando, Fla.

Josephine Weaver
97, WICHITA

Josephine (Lovell) Weaver, 97, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, died Sunday, July 15, 2012.
A celebration of Josephine’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 7404 Killarney.
She was born June 19, 1915 in St. Paul, Minn, to Walter D. and Jessie R. Lovell. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in bacteriology. Following her marriage to Theodore W. Weaver, Jr. in 1939, she moved to Kansas where she participated in the Augusta and Wichita communities for may years. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi and P.E.O. and she quietly supported many causes and individuals.
Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Lovell; husband, Theodore W. Weaver, Jr.; and son, John T. Weaver.
Survivors include: her children, Theodore W. (Carolyn) Weaver, III; Walter "Dan” (Lynn) Weaver; Jane Weaver (Earl) Griffith; James L. Weaver; and Constance Weaver; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Lois E. Rodden
80, AUGUSTA

Lois E. Rodden, 80, of Augusta Passed Away, Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at home. Memorial service 10 a,m, Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusa.
Lois was born in Moundridge, Kan. on Nov. 8,1931, to the late Hulda (Vogts) and Herman Otte. She was a retired beautician, and also retired as a bookkeeper for Rural Water District #4. On July 16, 1955 in Augusta, she married John C Rodden and he preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Glen Otte.
She is survived by: a son, John Rodden II and wife Debra of Augusta; step son, Bill Rodden his wife Pam and their daughter Gretchen of Longmont, CO; brothers, Clyde Otte and Gary Otte both of Moundridge.
