Mary ‘Gini’ Heck
80, WINFIELD

Mary Virginia “Gini” Heck, 80, of Winfield, passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Miles Funeral Service, Winfield. A private family inurnment will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Arkansas City.
Gini worked as a drafting engineer for Beech, Boeing, Cessna, and Lear-jet.
Her husband James Webster Heck preceded her in death.
Survivors include: sons, Jimmy Heck II of Dallas, Texas, and Jeff (Linda) Heck of Andover; daughter, Cheryl Heck of Winfield; brother, Larrie Ford of Benbrook, Texas; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
A memorial has been established for the Kansas Veterans Home. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Donald Holladay
80, EL DORADO

Donald Curtis Holladay, 80, passed away on Sunday,Sept.l6,2012, after a lengthy illness.
Visitation with the family will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Services will be held at a 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20,2012, at the First Church of the Nazarene in El Dorado. Burial will be in Walnut Valley Cemetery in El Dorado.
Don was the fifth child bom to Obie Rolland and Ruth Stephen Holladay on May 11,1932 in El Dorado.
In 1953, Don joined the U.S. Army and was honorable discharged in 1955. Don was employed by Cities Service Oil Company, Hogoboom TYucking and retired June, 1994 from Circle High School as custodian.
On July 23, 1956. Don and Marcia Ann Ritchey Kimball was married in Newkirk, Okla.
There was three sons, Stephen Curtis, of Augusta, Rickey Eugene (Julie) and John Christopher, all of El Dorado; two daughters, Karalee (Joe) Weller of Mulvane, and Dawn Lynn Haworth of Augusta. The four grandsons are Jacob Weller of Wichita, Lucas Weller of Fort Collins, Colo., and Nicholas Weller of Manhattan, and Jordan Holladay of El Dorado; five granddaughters, Kelsi Haworth of Augusta, Mallory Haworth, of Newman, Ga., Erica Holladay, Cailey Holladay of El Dorado, Madison Holladay of Haysville; one great-granddaughter, Kennadi Poore of Augusta. This marriage ended in a divorce in 1980.
The first Church of the Nazarene of El Dorado, Kansas is where Don and Margaret Evelyn Holem Hanks were married on April 1, 1990. With this union he gained a stepson, Robert Hanks, two step-daughters, Lori (Mo) Dashner, and Robin Hanks all of El Dorado. There is one step-grandson Ren Dashner, and three step-granddaughters Ravin (Alan) Young, whom Don helped raise, MaKayla Dashner all of El Dorado, Kansas and Ryleigh Farr of St. George, Utah.
Don is survived by one brother, Robert Holladay, of El Dorado, and one sister, Margaret Hays of Hays, Kans.; several nieces and nephews.
Those who preceded him in death are his parents, one brother Rolland and one sister Mary Ruth Brackin.
Don enjoyed the country living when he could tend to his chickens, gardening, watching wild life, but mostly enjoyed his dogs and cats.
Memorials to his memory for Alex's House Rescue may be left with Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado, where friends may call.
