Nancy Hayes
77, WICHITA

Nancy C. Hayes, 77, Wi chita, passed away Satur day, Oct. 20, 2012.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Tiles day, with family present 6 8 p.m.; funeral service S p.m. Wednesday, both a1 Smith Family Mortuary 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Hayes and parents Norris and Madge Leo.
Survived by: children, Steve (Susanne) Hayes, Wichita, Robert (Tina Jones) Hayes, Augusta, and Terry (Diana) Hayes, Wichita; sister, Darlene (Kenny) Bruner; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202, and American Diabetes Association, 608 W. Douglas Ste. 100, Wichita, KS 67203.

Horton Flaming
78, NORTH NEWTON

Horton W. Flaming, 78, North Newton, Kan., formerly of Augusta, retired educator, died on Oct. 15, 2012.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton.

Earl McCollom
86, WICHITA

Earl McCollom, 86, proprietor of McCollom Motors, Wichita, passed away October 17, 2012.
Along with his wife of 68 years, Phyllis, they piloted their planes to many events/destinations across the U.S.
Services were held on Monday at Resthaven Mortuary, Wichita.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; six children, Jennifer (Jeff) Elliott, Carol (Eugene) Mussat, Mark (Kay), Marilyn (Mike) Rudick, Dan (Darlene) all in the Wichita area, and David (Sue) of Centennial, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren.
A son, James, preceded him in death.

Lois M. Smith
86, AUGUSTA

Lois M. (Holcomb) Smith, 86, of Augusta, passed away Monday, Oct. 22,
2012 surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the First Baptist Church, Augusta, with Pastor Terry Deaver presiding.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday,Oct. 27, 2012 at Fairview Church in Coffeyville Cemetery, Coffeyville. since 1951 and First Baptist in Augusta since 2009. Lois sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years, was Missionary Circle Chairman from 1994 to 2002, and also served a 4 year term as Deacon.
Lois was born near Luray, Kan. on July 19,1926, to the late Bertha (Langley) and Leotus Earl Holcomb the 10th of 11 children. Lois went to grade school in Luray, high school in Wathena, Kan. and graduated from Ottawa University in 1948. On Dec. 22, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Wathena, she married Barten Harold Smith. She taught school for 3 years at Moundridge and Anthony before moving to Cof-feyville in 1951. She was a stay- at-home mother for 16 years while her children were small. Lois taught at Garfield School from 1967 to 1988 in Coffeyville. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville since 1951 and First Baptist in Augusta since 2009.
She is survived by: her husband, Barten; sons, David and Reverend Dick Smith and wife Diana; daughters, Cathy Hoyt and husband Bill, and Cheryl Kaufman and husband Gene; brothers, Elmer and Derrall Holcomb; sister, Bemita Benitz; 8 grandchildren Sarah, Aaron and Anna Hoyt, Omar (Katie) Shifrin, Lillian Lance, Casey (Jessica) Smith, Katie (Aaron) Mussat, and Kenzie Smith; and 4 great-grandchildren, Sam and Audrey Shifrin, and Soren and Solomon Smith.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Wilbur, Leotus Jr., and Iinville Holcomb; sisters, Leora Trent, Junia Noyes, Oleta, and Hazel Holcomb.
