AUGUSTA
Gisela ‘Omi’ Pierce, 77

Gisela "Omi" Pierce, age 77, Augusa, passed away Friday, Feb.14, 2014.
A celebration of Gisela’s life will be at a later date.
She was born on Aug. 12,1936, in Offenbach, Germany to Anneliese and Georg Junger. Gisela married Max Pierce on April 21,1961 and they moved to Augusta, in August of that year. She became a naturalized citizen seven years after she arrived in the United States. Gisela began working at Beechcraft as an inventory control clerk in 1975. She retired in 1998 to enjoy KU sports, traveling with her family, and spending time with her four grandchildren.
Gisela was preceded in death by her parents and her ex-husband, Max.
She is survived by: her daughters, Christa Cave and husband, Kent, of Augusta, Stephanie Pierce of Wichita, Annie Pretz and husband Jeff of Andover, Max Pierce II and wife Reina of Augusta; four grandchildren, Alexandra and Gordon Cave and Garrett and Ashlyn Pretz.
Gisela brought joy and laughter to so many and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial established with Susan G. Komen Foundation.

AUGUSTA
Nina M. Geist, 94

Nina May Geist, 94, Augusta, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no services, at Nina’s request.
Nina was born Sept. 29,1919, to Willis and E. Faye (Cogswell) Nicklin
in Darlow, Kan. She graduated from Topeka High School in Topeka. Nina was the Chief Dispatcher at the Augusta Department of Safety.
Her survivors include: sons, Steve Geist and Fred Geist; daughter, Martha Geist; brother, Robert Nicklin.
