Dewane Carter, 88
Dewane Chadd Carter, 88, passed away peacefully at home with his daughter by his side on Friday, May 1, 2015.
Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m. on Monday; funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, both at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Dewane was born Jan. 11, 1927 to Fred and Beulah (Chadd) Carter in Hillsdale, Okla., One of eight children, Dewane grew up in Goltry, Okla., where he farmed, drove teams of horses, and developed his strong work ethic. Dewane served his country in the U.S. Army and was a World War II veteran.
He married the love of his
life, Eula Geneva Woolery,
on Feb.24, 1962 in Newton.
He worked for Beechcraft as a painter for 40 years. Dewane loved spending time with family, from Carter reunions and visits in Goltry, Okla., to playing ball with his great — grandkids at the house. He greatly enjoyed baseball (Go Royals!), horses, puzzles and gardening. He took pride in his yard and home, in which he lived for 43 years, surrounded by a community of close neighbors and friends.
Dewane was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eula; son, Randy; stepson, Dennis Fletcher; brothers, J.D. and Merle; and sisters, Ellen White and Claudine McSparrin.
Dewane is survived by: his daughter Charlotte Englund (husband Peter Poor-man); stepdaughters, Sue Craig (husband Bob) and Anna Fletcher (husband Dale Elliott); sisters, Arlene Foltz, Anna Mae Shaw, and Freda Jo Brawley; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pamela Harlan Daniels, 58, of Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.
Her family will host a celebration of life from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the Augusta City Lake.
Her survivors include: husband, Rodney Daniels; daughters, Erica (Nick) Hourigan and Aleen (James) Horton; 11 grandchildren; sister, Patti (Bill) Starkel; brothers, Sam Harlan and Rick Harlan; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Aleen Harlan, and brother, Michael Shawn Harlan.

Orphia "Mae" Stalnaker, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in Wichita.
Visitation from 1-2 p.m., with services beginning immediately following the visitation at 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Latham Cemetery Union Township, Kan.
Mae was born in Mulberry, Kan. on May 20, 1926 to the late Benjamin and Violet Totman. On July 2, 1949 she married Ralph Stalnaker in El Dorado. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by: her daughter, Shirley Pilant of Augusta; grandchildren, Dean Burden, Matt (Kaysie) Pilant and Jessica Pilant; great-grandchildren, Kayden Chase Pilant and Bailey Dean Burden; sister, Alta Gordon of Winfield.
She was also preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Nellie (Duke) Evenson; sister and brother-in-law, Louise (David) Mailen; brother- in-law, Dale Gordon; great-grandson, Hayden Pilant.

Darci R. McRay, 51
Darci Renee (Tauscher) McRay, 51, of Augusta, passed May 8, 2015 after a long fought battle with cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday,
May 12, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Arkansas City. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
She was born April 9, 1964, the daughter of Ernest and Beverly Tauscher. Darci graduated Arkansas City High School in 1982. She was a compassionate fighter, who dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse. Ironically, her favorite position was caring for those near death as a Hospice Nurse. She used her faith in Christ to comfort others in their time of need and to help them start the healing process. Darci also had an avid love of gardening and antiquing.
Darci is survived by: her parents, Ernest and Beverly Tauscher; two daughters and their spouses, Ashley (Carlson) and Keith Strohm and Abbey (Carlson) and Josh Reynolds; six grandchildren, who she would give anything for, Ella, Aniston, Emma, Paxton, Weston, and Brody; and brother Doug and wife Lee Ann, and their children Courtney and Ryan.
The family would like any monetary donations to go to Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
