Ina J. Elliott dies Monday in Augusta
Ina J. Elliott, 100, Augusta, died June 11 at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Dunsford Funeral Home, the Rev. Burl Allison and the Rev. Mike Omundson officiating.
She was born July 10, 1889, in Gordon to Robert L. Snodgrass and Lora Palmer.
She had been a homemaker in this community all of her life.
Survivors include two sons, Jay and Wayne Elliott, both of Augusta; daughter, Lora Mae Pennington of Augusta; brother, Palmer Snodgrass of Kansas City; 23 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Estill and Claude; daughter, Martha Ellithorpe; and her husband who died in 1960.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church.
Robert Holbert services Monday
Robert Holbert, brother of Augusta resident Jerry Holbert, died Friday, June 8, in Wichita.
Services and interment were Monday, June 11, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence.
Other survivors include brothers, Frank Jr. and Le Roy of Independence, Donald Lee, Security, Colo.; daughters, Teresa Monroe, Independence, Lisa Rene Holbert of Cushing, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

Joleen Haffner dies in Lucerne
Former Augusta resident Joleen Haffner, 55, Manhattan, died Monday, June 11, in Lucerne, Switzerland.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Manhattan. A private graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center.
She was born June 3, 1935 in Clay Center to Karl and Wilma Von Sange. Her mother survives.
Mrs. Haffner also leaves two sons, Chris of Fairway, and Paul of Manhattan; two daughters, Sabrina Strauss of Manhattan, and Laurie Haffner of Albur-querque, N.M.; a brother, Duane of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister. Car-lene Dalrymple of Marion, and one granddaughter.
She was a special education teacher and graduated from the Clay Center school system in 1953, and earned degrees from Kansas State University and Emporia State University before teaching in Emporia and Kansas City. She was a teacher in the Wamego school system at the time of her death.
A memorial fund has been established with St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
The Neil-Schwensen Funeral Home of Clay Center is in charge of arrangements.
Gladys Hendrickson dies Wednesday
Gladys Hendrickson, 99, Augusta, died Wednesday, June 13, at the Walnut Valley Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence.
Hendrickson had been an Independence resident before going to the Walnut Valley Nursing Home,
Survivors include son, Max H. Hendrickson of Augusta; daughter, Mrs. Clara J. Dennis of Lancaster, Calif.; brother, Victor Cox of Elk City; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Webb and Rodrick Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements.
