Gary Durocher

Gary Lynne Durocher, 48, Wichita, died Monday, Sept. 16.
He was the father of Sarah D. Durocher and Rebecca Durocher of Augusta.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wichita.
Durocher was a Boeing Wichita tool and die maker.
Other survivors include his wife, Marilyn J.; son, Joseph O.; father, George of Seattle, Wash.;
mother and stepfather, Pauline & George Razook of Wichita;
brother, Phillip N. of Phoenix, Ariz.; half-sister, Judy Hendry of Colorado.
A memorial has been established with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wichita Second Ward,
Missionary Fund.
Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary, Wichita, is in charge of arrangements.

Carl Malott

Carl Malott, 80, Augusta, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Asbury Hospital in Salina.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church, the Rev. Michael Omundson officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, with Masonic graveside services by Mystic Tie Lodge 74, A.F. & A.M.
Malott was born July 7,1911, in Parsons to Letha Leora (Britt) and David Malott.
On Aug. 30,1941, he married Dorothy M. Dennis in Parsons. She survives.
Malott had been a saleman for a grainery. He was a member of the First Christian Church,
the Masons and the American Legion. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II
and was known as a gardener.
Other survivors include a son, Dennis Malott of Wichita;
daughter Helen Jeanne Turner of Bennington; sisters, Mazie Stewart of Tucson, Ariz.,
Helen McCoy Parce of California; five grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church, Augusta.
Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta, is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Eckel

Dorothy Guyot Eckel, 80, Arkansas City, died Aug. 16 at the Aik City Memorial Hospital.
She was a former Douglass resident Services have been held.
She was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1911, to Paul R. & Emma Harp Guyot.
Her family moved to Douglass where she graduated from high school.
S he attended Southwestern College, the University of Kansas and graduated from Tulsa University.
In June, 1935, she and John E. Eckel were married in Douglass.
She belonged to the First United Methodist Church, Chapter ER of P.E.O.,
Hypatia Club, Christian Women’s Club and Community Concert Association.
Survivors include her husband, John; son, John E. Jr. of Galveston, Texas;
daughter, Mary Endacott Nefsky of Lincoln, Neb.; seven grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with First United Methodist Church.
Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City, was in charge of arrangements.

Lathan Vice

Lathan Day “L.D.” Vice, 36, El Dorado, died Monday, Sept. 9, as a result of a construction accident.
Funeral services were today at the Assembly of God Church, El Dorado.
Burial was in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
Vice was the owner of Vice Contracting Company.
He was born July 31,1955, in Falls City, Neb., to Don C. & Shirley L. Bragg Vice.
He graduated from Southeast Consolidated High School in Stella, Neb.
On Sept. 12, 1981, he married Teresa Renville in El Dorado.
Before working in the roofing business, he worked for Brandt Drilling Co. in Wichita.
Vice was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce
and had served as a board member for the Cornerstone Christian School.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa; sons, Nathaniel, Ethan, both at home;
a daughter, Amber at home; parents, Don & Shirley Vice of Shubert, Neb.;
brothers, Zachary of Creighton, Neb., Montana and Noha, both of Omaha, Neb.;
sisters, Christy Berglund of Creighton, Neb., Zina Dotson of El Dorado.
Memorials have been established with the Assembly of God Church and the Cornerstone Christian School.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado, is in charge of arrangements.
