Loretta Upchurch

Loretta Gayle Upchurch, 70, Augusta, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1996, at
Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.
There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, in Elmwood Cemetery
with Rev. Amos Williams officiating.
Upchurch was born, in Tarkio, Mo., to Fred T. and Nellie (Perkins) Thompson.
She married Lowell Grover Upchurch on Jan. 1, 1950 in Augusta. He survives.
Upchurch was a former Boeing employee and a member of the Nazarene Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Fred and twin brother Dale Thompson,
and a sister, Thelma Hutter. She is survived by her husband, a brother, J.D. Thompson of Fort Collins, Colo.,
and a sister, Barbara Burns of Sepulveda , Calif.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Seglem

Kenneth L. Seglem, 81, of rural Augusta, died Saturday Jan 13, 1996 at Via Christi Francis Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Leon United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Blankenship Cemetery at Rosalia.
Seglem was born July 5, 1914 in Leon to Lawrence and Nina (Bryant) Seglem.
They and his brother preceded him in death.
He spent all his life in the area and was a farmer.
He also worked for Mobil Oil Refinery as an electrician for 37 years,
and was currently working for Rural Water District 2.
He was a member of the Leon United Methodist Church and was also a board member of the Leon Senior Center.
He married Faye Brickley on Sept. 19, 1939, in Dodge City, she survives.
He is also survived by his daughters, Donna Wilkinson of El Dorado, Debra Crissup of Augusta;
four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Leon United Methodist Church and Leon Senior Citizens.
Carlson Funeral Home of El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Berlin Cox

Berlin C. Cox, 83, Rose Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 1996.
Visitation will be until 8 p.m. tonight at Smith Mortuary, Derby.
His service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Rose Hill United Methodist Church with Dr. Donald Snyder officiating and Rev. Sheldon Cox assisting. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Cox was bom April 28, 1912 in Rose Hill to Virgil E. and Blanche (Fesmire) Cox.
He married Mildred Ruth (Clinger). She and his parents preceded him in death.
Cox was Rose Hill city building inspector, former Rose Hill mayor, retired self-employed residential contractor and carpenter.
He belonged to the Douglass Masonic Lodge 151, Consistory with 50-year pin, member of the Eastern Star and the Shrine.
He is survived by his daughters, Marjorie Simmons, Marilyn Shaffer, both of Rose Hill; brothers, Weston of Newton, Brownie of Springfield, Mo., Hubert of Derby; sisters, Clarissa Johnson, Zeneta Herbers, both of Rose Hill; five grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Rose Hill United Methodist Church and Rose Hill Senior Center. / -/T'' c/&
