Hazel M. Burress
Hazel M. Burress, 74, Augusta, died Friday, March 22, 1996, at home.
There was a graveside service today, March 25, at Elmwood Cemetery with
Rev. Vern Bowers of Augusta First United Methodist Church officiating.
Burress was born Jan. 20, 1922 in El Dorado to Grover C. and Arta (Hood) Anderson.
The homemaker is survived by her husband, Melvin Burress; sons, Walter, and his wife, Deana of Augusta;
daughters, Catherine and her husband Mike Beckwith of Edmond, Okla.,
Margaret and her husband Dale Linn of Emporia; sisters, Helen Barr of Plano, Texas,
Erma Wilson of New Braunfels, Texas, and seven grandchildren, Melissa and Jessica Beckwith;
Andy, Amanda, and Andrea Linn; Olivia and Ariel Burress.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James, and two sisters, Catherine Clayton and Fayrean Bench.
A memorial has been established with the Augusta Historical Society.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Wilson
Raymond W. Wilson, 84, Augusta, died Friday, April 5, 1996.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the Hillside Funeral Home Augusta.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Wilson was a retired Beech Aircraft worker and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Augusta.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Wilson;
sisters, Mary, Ada, and Virgie; and one grandchild, Lannie Max.
He is survived by his wife, Opal; son, Larry C. Wilson of Andover; daughter, Charlene McDaniel of Augusta;
two grandsons, Mike Ray of Augusta, Ronnie Ray of Severy; granddaughter, Faiye Nelson of Wichita;
six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established with the First Southern Baptist Church.

Devin Michael Schwartz, one-year old grandson of Randy and Dee Schwartz of Augusta, died Wednesday, April 10, 1996.
His service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Greenwood Cemetery, Oatville.
He is survived by his parents, David and Christianna Schwartz of Wichita;
other grandparents, Robert and Cindy Harris of Wichita, Frank and Gail Graham of Haysville;
great-grandparents, Frank and Neva Halbert, A.D. and Lois Humphrey, Dale and Delores Schwartz,
Kendell and Pat Fox, all of Wichita.
A memorial has been established with Faith Baptist Church, Wichita.
Downing & Lahey Mortuary, of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

William E. “Bill” Morris, 81, Augusta, died Sunday, March 31, 1996.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 2 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Box officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Morris was born Jan. 30, 1915 in Rothville, Mo., to Ely and Martha (Allen) Morris.
He married Margaret Corbin on June 25, 1938 in Augusta, and he retired from Mobil with 44 years of service.
This member of the First Baptist Church leaves sons, William Morris of Towanda, Dennis Morris of Sapulpa, Okla.;
brother, Bernard Morris of Oklahoma; sister, Isabel Hunter of San Antonio, Texas, and four grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with the First Baptist Church and the Augusta Arts Council.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
