Dorothy Arnold

Dorothy Faye Arnold, 86, of Augusta died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999.
Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Oct. 9, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Don C. Bright will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation is possible at the Dunsford Funeral Home until 8 p.m. tonight.
She was born May 14, 1913 in Leon to Jay L. and Sarah Sawyer DeMoss.
She married Fred Gordon Arnold on Jan. 1, 1936 in Augusta. He preceded her in death in 1978.
Mrs. Arnold owned and managed the Arnold Apartments for several years, was a member of First Christian Church and a 50-year member of E.H.U.
She leaves daughters Marilyn Reynolds of Andover, Marlene Whittaker of Augusta, Marsha Johnston of Wichita; brother Kenneth DeMoss of Tavarus, Fla.; grandchildren Doug Reynolds, Sharon Daggett, Steven Whittaker, Stephanie Colgan, Susan Turner and Brian Johnston; great-grandchildren Crystal and Carrie Whittaker, Christopher Whittaker and Emma Turner.
A memorial has been established at First Christian Church, 1600 State, Augusta, 67010.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur DeMoss; two sisters, Wilma Dye, and Maxine Wooldridge, and one grandchild, Trishin Johnston. .

Vivian Williams

Retired schoolteacher Vivian Marie Williams, 92, of Augusta, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel in Augusta. Rev. Vern Bowers of the First United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at the Dunsford Funeral Home.
She was born April 25, 1907 in Leon to Charles and Anna Sinkhorn Cruthird.
She grew up in Leon and graduated from high school there. She attended Emporia State University and moved to Augusta when she married Homer Williams.
She worked as a teacher and taught in Augusta, Leon and Cottonwood Falls. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband Homer; daughters Annavee Duncan of Reed Springs, Mo., Verna Deane Kriner of Phoenix, Ariz., Charlene Sigley of Keystone Heights, Fla.; sister Virdine Lamb of Newton; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
