Ilo ‘Peggy’ Shoger

Ilo B. “Peggy” Shoger, 76, of Augusta, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 1997, at Augusta Medical Complex Long Term Care.
Her funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta Chapel. Rev. Tom Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Ilo Lyons was born July 10, 1921, in Ottawa to Albert and Ima (Baker) Lyons.
She married Noel Shoger April 13, 1940, in Princeton. He preceded her in death.
She was an admissions and public relations attendant at Wichita Clinic before her retirement.
Survivors are sons, Darrel Shoger of Augusta and Rick Shoger of Edwardsville, 111.; six grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Hospice, Inc., and First Christian Church of Augusta. Contributions may be sent through Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta. ,


Eugene H. Simon

Eugene Henry Simon, 62, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 1997, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997, at St. James Catholic Church. Father Jim Mainzer will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
A rosary will be recited at the church at 7 o’clock tomorrow evening, Oct. 21., 1997.
Mr. Simon was a retired farmer and assembly line inspector at Beech Aircraft.
He was born May 21, 1935 in Conway Springs as the son of Robert Simon and Ida Seiler Simon.
On April 21, 1956, he married Ann Watson. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Simon leaves sons, Eugene H. “Sonny” Simon II, his wife, Paula, and sons Chris and Colt of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Courtney of Wichita, Jeff Simon and his wife, Shelly, daughter Brooke and son Brice, all of Augusta; brothers, Cletus Simon of Syracuse, Dennis Simon of Dodge City, Kenneth of Douglass, Leroy Simon Elmer Simon and Earl Simon, all of Augusta; sisters, Jo Ann Heimerman of Wichita, Betty Carroll of Albany, Wis., Thelma Hoge, Doris Proctor, and Mary Anderson, all of Augusta; five grandchildren; 84 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Scott, his parents and a sister, Ethel MacKay.
Memorials to the St. James Catholic Church building fund have been suggested in lieu of flowerS. /0-ZS-47

Wm. A. Tinkler

William Aubom Tinkler, 82, Augusta, owner of Bill’s Ditching Service, died Friday, Oct. 10, 1997, at Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral service was held this afternoon, Monday, Oct. 13, at First Christian Church of Augusta. Rev. Tom Davis officiated and burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 4. 1914 in Augusta as the son of Charles Tinkler and Maybelle Pray Tinkler.
On Dec. 17, 1945, he married the former Lora Roth in a ceremony at Tyler, Texas.
In addition to his wife, Mr, Tinkler leaves a daughter, Beverly Jacob of Orange, Calif.; a brother, Wallace Tinkler of Valley Center; a sister, Neva Houston of Liberal, five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorials to First Christian Church of Augusta, 1600 State, have been suggested.
The Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta was in charge of arrangements.
