Rose Ann Rhine

Rose Ann Rhine, 93, of Augusta, died Saturday, Dec 27,1997.
Her service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30 at First Christian Church here. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Blue Rapids Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 30, 1904 in Blue Rapids, to James and Katie (Nedwed) Kotapish.
She married Fred Rhine on April 25, 1925 in Manhattan. He preceded her in death in 1990.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and a retired school teacher. She taught at Haverhill School, Cole Creek School, Strata, St. Clair, Wathena, Brown-town, Pleasant Ridge and Pleasant Hill. She and Fred had a furniture store and restaurant in Augusta and owned a motel in Winfield.
She was a member of the Organ Club, Soroptimist Club, Rug Hooking Club and several bridge clubs.
Survivor is Harold Kotapish of Blue Rapids.
Memorial has been established with the First Christian Church Music Club.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of the arrangements.

Jo Ann L. Sitzes

JoAnn L. Sitzes, 65, of Augusta died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998.
Her funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998 at the First Southern Baptist Church. /Rev. Mark Conway officiated the service.
She was a homemaker.
She was born Jan. 29, 1932 in Peoria, 111. to Glen and Ruth (Gass) Presley.
She married Norman J. Sitzes on Dec. 7, 1958 in Peoria. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Survivors are son, Scott L. Presley of Peoria; daughter, Michelle Stock of Augusta; sister, Lenora Weir of Augusta; mother, Ruth Presley of Augusta; 14 nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta was in charge of the arrangements.
A memorial has been established with the First Southern
Baptist Church of Augusta.

Ardis I. White

Ardis I. White, 89, of El Dorado and former Augusta resident, dial Tuesday, Jan. 13,1998 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
She was a retired office secretary for Beech Aircraft.
Her service will be held at 1 a.m., Friday, Jan. 16 at the United Methodist Church in Isabel. Burial will follow at the Isabel Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 16, 1908 in Hutchinson, the daughter of Ernest and Nora (Daniels) Ellis. She was a
graduate of Isabel High School.
She married Cecil C. White in 1929 in Kingman. He preceded her in death in March, 1975.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Isabel.
Survivors includes son, Frank White of Auburn, Wash.; sisters, Gertrude Hill of Wichita, Ethel Nos-saman of Isabel, and Helen.Nos-saman of Pratt; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home has charge of these arrangements.

William P. Lytton

William P. Lytton, 86, of Beaumont, Texas and formerly of Augusta, died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30 at First Baptist Church in Augusta. Rev. Bob Box will officiate.
Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 2, 1910 in Rives, Tenn. to Sidney James and Viola (Tanner) Lytton.
He married Nellie Ann Powers. She survives.
Other survivors include daughter, Karyl Lea Dunson of Beaumont, Texas; brother,
Robert A Lytton of Wichita; sisters, Evelyn Higgs of Topeka, Euline Roberts of White Haven, Miss.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Kathryn Beaver

Former area resident Kathryn F. Beaver, 79, died Jan. 7, 1998 at a nursing home in Rogers, Ark.
She taught 34 years in the Rose Hill school system. Her total teaching career spanned 43 years.
Mrs. Beaver was a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Douglass, county, state, and national teacher associations, and the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority.
She was a graduate of Friends University with a bachelor of science degree in teaching.
Her husband, Howard, preceded her in death in January of 1997. She leaves two sons, four sisters, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Church of Christ at Bentonville, Ark., have been suggested.
