Thomas B. Carr

Thomas B. ‘Tom” Carr, 39, of Augusta, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997.
His funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30 at Central Baptist Church, rural Augusta.
Thomas Brent Carr was born July 17,1958 in Wichita.
He was a tool engineer at Boeing. Mr. Carr was active in programs where his daughters were involved.
Survivors include wife, Carolyn; daughters, Alicia, Amanda, Brooke, Bethany all of Augusta; parents, Theodore and Rosemary Carr of Andover; sisters, Debbie Rohrback of Andover, Lori Logsdon of Dou-glass.
Memorial has been established
with Central Baptist Church.
Lakeview Funeral Home, Wichita is in charge of the arrangements.

Naomi McQueen

Naomi Ruth McQueen, 73, of Augusta, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Lakepoint Nursing Center.
Her service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30 at Hillside Funeral Home Augusta. Burial will
be Towanda Cemetery.
She was born to Edward Joseph and Eliza Emma (Scott) Marcum on March 2,1924.
She married James John McQueen July 17,1943 in Wichita. He preceded her in death.
Survivors are sons, Janies of El Dorado, John and William, both of Augusta; daughters, Debra Fire-baugh and Janice McQueen, both of Augusta, Shirley Bowers of Great Bend; brother, Joseph Marcum of
El Dorado; 11 grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with El Dorado Wildlife Refuge.

J.L. Lipscomb

J. Lawrence Lipscomb, 80, of Augusta, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997 at Via Christi-St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
His graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Elmwood Cemetery. Dr. Robert Box of the First Baptist Church will officiate.
He was born April 7, 1917 to James C. and Mae (Singer) Lipscomb in Butler County.
He was a retired Skelly Oil
Survivors include wife, Radean son, John Lipscomb; daughters, Charlotte Dickson of Tuscon, Ariz., Trudy Anderson and Carolyn Myers, both of Augusta; brothers, Charles Lipscomb of Augusta and Hubert Lipscomb of Medicine Lodge; sisters, Emma Bryan of Augusta
and Mildred Muncil of Bartlesville, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with Kansas Dialysis Association, Wichita Division.

Iona G. Clark

Iona G. Clark, 84, of Augusta, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998.
Her funeral service was held at 3 p.m. today, Jan. 12.
Survivors include son, Robert of Wichita; daughter, Marlys McGuire of Haven; brother Dwayne Lackey of Augusta; sisters, Arvada Lackey, Neoma Lackey, both of Augusta; six grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren!
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta was in charge of the arrangements.

Nila J. Wolf

Nila J. Wolf, 77 of Augusta
died Sunday, Jan. 11,1998’
Her service will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. at Lakeview Mortuary.
Visitation will be held un p.m. this evening.
She was a retired Kmart receiving clerk.
She was born Sept. 27, in Arkansas City.
She married Leo Wolf, survives.
She was preceded m death by a daughter, Dixie Tolbert,
Other survivors include daughters, Ramona Blaine of Wichita, Karen Wolf of Miami,Fla, five grandchildren, nine
great-grandchildren.
Lakeview Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
A memorial has been established with Hopice of Kansas.

Sylvia A. Hurd

Sylvia A. Hurd, 87, of Augusta died this morning, Jan. 15,1998.
Services are pending.
She was born in Stockton on Feb. 2,1910 to Frank and Della Munn.
She graduated from Stockton High School in 1927 and attended the Dogue Business University in
Wichita.
She worked for the Fuller Land Company and Phillips Petroleum Co. She was a secretary in Research and Developement at Boeing. She retired in Feb. 1972, after 27 years of service.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and the American Legion Axillary.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Hurd; stepson, Tim Hurd; two nieces; one nephew; and one great-niece.
