James Thomason Sr.
James Thomason Sr., 91, of Augusta, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Victory Worship Center, Augusta. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m to 8 p.m on Tuesday.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Pastors Chuck Smith and Clyde Stockton will co-officiate.
He was born Oct. 21, 1906 in Love County, Texas to James F. and Julia (Brown) Thomason.
He married Lucille Luna on Jan. 26, 1932 in Madill, Okla. She survives.
He was a member of Assembly of God Church and a retired metal bond worker at Boeing.
Survivors include sons, James I. Thomason Jr., of Augusta, Curtis “Bud” Thomason of Dallas; daughter Judie Powers of Augusta; eight
grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.
Thelma Testerman
Thelma A. Testerman, 84, of Augusta, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998.
Her service will be held at 1:30 p.m.Wednesday, Feb. 18, at First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. C. R. Macchi will officiate.
She was a former school teacher and Testerman s Grocery owner.
She was born May 28, 1913 in Gordon, to George A. and Margaret Ova (Crowley) Tester-man.
She married Herbert A1 Testerman in El Dorado. He preceded her in death in Jan. 1988.
Survivors include son, Charles of Denver; daughter, Connie Whitson of Augusta; brother, William Leslie Rhoads of Douglass; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with Hospice Inc.
Hillside Funeral Home Augusta is in charge of the arrangements.
Kermit L. Train
Kermit L. Train, 85, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998 in Andover.
His funeral service was held this morning at Andover Assembly of God.
He was the former Train’s Jewelry of Salina owner, longtime watchmaker, and reflexologist.
He was born July 12, 1912 in New Gottland to George W. and Mable (Nelson) Train.
He married Ruth C. Tucker on Oct. 9, 1935 in Kansas City, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Larry Train of Augusta, Dennis of Andover; daughters, Kerma Karoly of Oak Brook, 111,. Mart-lynn Freistat of Miami Beach, Martha Cook of Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, seven
great-grandchildren,
Memorial has been established with the Gideon Bible Fund and Andover Assembly of God building fund.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta was in charge of the arrangements.
