Evelyn Hansen Dies At AMCI
Evelyn Hansen, 70, 2001 Moyle, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at the First Christian Church. Dr. Tom Parish and Rev. Richard Bacon will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 16, 1912 in Leon to Orson and Laura Butts Bacon.
She married Floyd Walter Hansen April 2, 1931 in El Dorado. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She was active in Community 40 Extension Homemakers Unit for many years. She also served as 4th District president of the Christian Women’s Fellowship
This homemaker is survived by two sons, Floyd L. Hansen of Wichita and Dwight D. Hansen of Augusta; three brothers, Dave Bacon and Merle Bacon, both of Leon, and Clair Bacon of Spokane, Wash.; three sisters, Gladys Smith of Douglass, Zerita Longsinger of Collinsville, Mo., and Vivian Porter of Clute, Texas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Lassman Dies At AMCI
Mary Pearl Lassman, 89, Augusta, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex Long-Term Care Facility.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Rev. A.E. Alpers will officiate and burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery there.
A memorial has been established with the organ fund of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
She was born Jan. 22, 1893 near Humboldt to Clemet and Katie Kissel Baker.
She married Fred J. Lassman Sr., Dec. 21, 1910 in Humboldt. He preceded her in death April 18, 1968.
She was an homemaker. She moved to Augusta six years ago from Humboldt and she was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include seven sons, Clarence of Wichita, Clyde of Augusta, Ralph of Topeka, Rev. Lonnie of Duluth, Minn., Robert of Chanute and Alvin and Fred, both of Humboldt; two daughters, Helen Sowell of Wichita and Betty Freede of Ashtabula, Ohio; a brother, Lonnie Baker of Humboldt; three sisters, Margaret Spurrier of Humboldt, Maude Miles of Pueblo, Colo., and Catherine Snodgrass of Emporia; 35 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
The Price-Stanley Funeral Home in Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.

Brother Dies In Ark City
Olave A. Bare, 66, Arkansas City, brother of Augustan Treva Wells, died Saturday, Jan. 1, at the Memorial Hospital in Arkansas City.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the Rindt Mortuary in Arkansas City.
He was born to Homer and Lottie Bare Jan. 23, 1916. He attended school in Douglass and graduated from high school there in 1935. He later attended two years of college in Salina.
Bare married the former Iva Morris of Arkansas City in 1956. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Eastern Star and Blue Lodge of Douglass.
Poor health forced him to retire from Cessna Aircraft after 17 years there.
In addition to the sister here, he leaves his wife, Iva, of the home; two stepsons, Phillip and Walter, both of Arkansas City; a stepdaughter, Jewell of Topeka, and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a
sister.

O.I. Wimberly Dies At 89
O.I.. Wimberly, 89, rural El Dorado, grandfather of Gerald Snyder of Augusta, died Saturday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Bradford Memorial Library in El Dorado.
He was born Aug. 14, 1893 in Longlane, Mo., to James and Genevia Story Wimberly.
He married Ona Hackler Jan. 14, 1914 in Longlane. She preceded him in death in 1965.
The retired farmer is also survived by a daughter, Marie Snyder of rural El Dorado; granddaughter, Jeanie Clay of Douglass; grandson, Dr. David Snyder of Sand Springs, Okla., and seven great-grandchildren.
