P. Kippenberger

Phyllis Maxine Kippenberger, 68, Augusta, died Thursday, June 18, 1998 at home.
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, at St. John’s Catholic Church in El Dorado. Burial will be in the cemetery at Thomas, Okla., around 11:30 a.m.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday, June 22, in the chapel of the Hillside Funeral Home Augusta.
She was born June 9, 1930 in Thomas, Okla., as the daughter of George Arthur Caldwell and Winnie Davidson Caldwell.
On March 30, 1948, she married Stan Kippenberger in Texas.
She worked as office manager for Dr. Lana Anderson. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Kippenberger leaves her husband of the home; sons Chris Kippenberger of Derby and Kerry Kippenberger of Kingfisher, Okla.; daughters, Audra Udden of Derby, and Lana Anderson of Wichita; sisters, Pauline Stewart of Portland, Ore., Jeannie Clayton of Houston, Texas, Jerry Presta of San Francisco, Calif., and Naomi Ball of Dorchester, Texas; 18 grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society and/or St. John’s Catholic Church at El Dorado have been suggested.

'Tricia’ Bernhardt

Patricia K. “Tricia” Bernhardt, 47, Augusta, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita
A rosary will be said for her at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 19, in the Dunsford Funeral Home, 201 E. Fifth. Her funeral mass will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at St.James Catholic Church, State & Clark. Fthr. Samuel Pinkerson will officate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 1, 1950 in Pittsburg as the daughter of Frank Kuhel Jr. and Alice Oplotnik Kuhel. Her parents survive.
She and Richard Bernhardt were united in marriage Aug. 4, 1972 at Pittsburg. He survives.
Mrs. Bernhardt was a lifelong advocate for education of all.
She worked for the Butler County Community College Resource Centers as teacher of Adult Basic Education and General Education Development and alternative school instructor. Mrs. Bernhardt was coordinator of the center’s community corrections program.
Last winter, she was cited as a KAKE-TV Hero of the Month for her educational pursuits and her courageous battle with cancer.
In addition to her husband, she leaves sons, Michael and Mark of the home; brother, Frank Joe Kuhel of Pittsburg.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.

Vivian V. Wilson

Vivian Viola Wilson, 96, Augusta, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998.
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 19, at the First Christian Church of Augusta. Rev. Tom Davis of First Christian Church will officiate and burial will be in the Cumberland Cemetery, southeast of Augusta.
She was born Dec. 17, 1901 in Augusta as the daughter of William R. Church and Jonella I. Cron Church.
On June 10, 1920, she married Fred B. Wilson in Wichita. He preceded her in death April 26, 1981.
This retired Beech Aircraft personnel employee was a member of the Eastern Star and First Christian Church.
She leaves sons, Robert Wilson of Augusta, Jack Wilson of Anaheim, Calif.; daughter, Joyce Brandt of Augusta; seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Two grandchildren also preceded her in death -Douglas Brandt and Jonella Wilson.
Memorials to First Christian Church have been suggested.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
