Jess J. Wallick

Jess J. “Pop” Wallick, 82, Augusta, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
There will be no funeral service, however, a reception for family, friends, and congrga-tional members is planned from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at Christ Lutheran Church, Kelly & Cron.
Memorial services are being planned for a later date in Albion, Neb., where he was born as the son of John and Minnie Wallick on Aug. 20, 1915
Mr. Wallick served with the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 and was involved in the Pacific Campaign for the Figi Islands and Guadal Canal.
He retired from Boeing in Wichita in December of 1970 where he had worked as a modification mechanic. After retirement, he worked as house painter in this community.
Mr. Wallick leaves his wife, Arlene; son Dennis and wife Edie, all of Augusta; sister Shirley Mahaffey and her husband Ron of Camp Verde, Ariz.; brother Dana Wallick and his wife Annetta of Kent, Wash.; three step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Dougie, three sisters and three brothers..
The Cochran Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Nebraska service

A graveside funeral service for Jess J. “Pop” Wallick of Augusta will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Albion, Neb. That service will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion.
Mr. Wallick, 82, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
