Carlie Jean Winkle
Carlie Jean Winkle, 58, of El Dorado, homemaker, sales associate, mother of Lorretta Ward of Augusta, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the First United Methodist Church, Augusta and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 18, 1940, to Grover and Cora Lee (Mouser) Helms in Stanley, Okla.
She married Eddie W. Winkle June 19, 1998, in El Dorado.
Other survivors include: husband, Eddie; son, Jerry Lynn Beesley of Wichita; brothers, Jack Helms of Punchatoula, La., Delbert Helms of Comanche, Okla., and Allen Helms of Ryan, Okla.; sisters, Mary Matthews of Comanche, Juanita Blair of Alice, Texas, Patricia Hewitt of Honey Grove, Texas; three grandchildren, Michael Ward of Augusta, Cosy Beesley and Bec-ca Lynn Beesley, both of Gastonia, N.C.; and others, Deniece and Clay Anderson of Augusta.
Memorial has been established with the Leukemia Society of America Butler County Chapter.
The funeral was arranged by Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta.___

Elsie E. Schwartz, 84, of Augusta, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999. No service was held.
She was a former Wagner Corp. secretary.
She is survived by: daughter, Donna Bohaty of Jordan, Ark.; brother, John Huss of California; sister, Ruthie Koehler of Sacramento, Calif.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home of Winfield is in charge of arrangements.
Roberta Tracy
Roberta Tracy, 72, of Bridgeview, Okla., former resident of Augusta, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Kingston Cemetery, Madill, Okla.
Mrs. Tracy was born June 12, 1926 in Augusta.
She married Gene Tracy August 26, 1946. They resided in Augusta until 1957, when they moved to Lake Texoma.
Mrs. Tracy was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church of Caney Creek.
Survivors include: husband, Gene Tracy; son, Chuck Tracy of Madill; daughter, Lori Tracy of Dallas; grandchildren, Lindy and Jesa; and brother, William Nelson of Houston.
Services arranged by Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla.
A.W. McVay III
Arthur Ware McVay III, 55, Cameron Body Shop owner, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999.
His funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at the First Baptist Church in Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
A.W. was born Oct. 26, 1943, in Tulsa, Okla, while his father was in service. He moved with his parents to Augusta when he was a small boy.
He graduated from Augusta
‘Corky’ Powers
Laurel Lee “Corky” Powers, 69, of Crowley, Texas, a former resident of Augusta, died July 1,1999.
“Corky” was the son of Larene and Howard Powers. He grew up in Augusta and moved to Texas after graduating from Augusta High School.
Services and burial have been held in Crowley, Texas.
He is survived by: an adopted son, James; daughter, Beth (address unk own); numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in the Augusta area.
High in 1961, then attended Butler County Community College and Kansas State.
A.W. went to work for Scholfield’s while it was located in Augusta. He lated became body shop manager for Scholfield’s in Wichita before starting Cameron Body Shop with partner Tom Griffin.
He earned numerous awards for his highly acclaimed twin 1957 DeSotos, which he enjoyed taking to car shows. He also enjoyed boating and spending time with his family.
Survivors include: wife, Cathey, and children; Natalie and Mark of Wichita and Lynn of Oklahoma City; parents, A.W. Jr. and Helen; sister, Connie Bourget, all of Augusta; one grandson, one niece, and three nephews.
Memorial has been established with Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy.
Nina Ann Todd
Homemaker Nina Ann Todd, 66, Augusta, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999 at the Via Christi St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel.
She was bom May 28, 1932 in Yale, Okla., as the daughter of Lura and Mary Gooch.
On June 12, 1947, she and Oliver Todd were united in marriage in Portales, N.M. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Survivors include son Mike Todd of Augusta, daughters, Mary Delane Alachniewicz of Badger, Iowa, Shirley Sigwig of Augusta, Linda Ferguson of Andover, Patricia Kuntz of Derby, and Bessie Wood of Douglass; brother Chet Gooch of Linden, Texas, 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
