Harold Denny
Harold David Denny, 80, of Augusta, retired H.D. Denny Oil Well Service and Petrofina Oil Company employee, died Thursday, March 4, 1999.
There will be no local service. Visitation with family present will be Saturday, March6, from 1 to 3pm at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta.
Mr. Denny was born April 2, 1918 in Tryon, Okla., to Charles Leroy and Myrtle Ivy (Gunter) Denny.
March 20, 1942 in Winfield. She preceded him in death in 1997.
He served in the Army infantry in WWII.
Survivors include: son, David Ray Denny and wife Nancy of Colwich; daughters Carol (Dede) Denny of Wichita, Daine Sue (Denny) Orkfritz of Morri-
son, Okla, (from his first marriage to Marjorie Lou McClurg in 1939); brother, Arthur K. Denny of Yuma, Ariz.; and grandsons Ryan and John Denny of Colwich.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Evelyn Rebecca Eytcheson
Evelyn Rebecca Eytcheson, 86, died Thursday, March 25, 1999 at Lakepoint Nursing Center in Augusta.
A graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 1999.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 27, 1999 at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
She was born on March 18, 1913 in Bartlesville, Okla., to Thomas Eades and Leona May.
Mrs. Eytcheson was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church.
She is survived by husband, John Riley Eytcheson, whom she married on Dec, 24, 1930.
Mrs. Eytcheson also leaves a son,Marvin Eytcheson of Augusta; daughters Wanda M. Catron of Cherryvale, Barbara J. Harvey of Augusta, and Caroline Powers of Kincaid; a brother Raymond Eades of Independence; sisters Dollie Bonney of Las Vegas, Nev., Edith Sheppard of Montana and Alice Sheppard, address unknown; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grand-childen.
Memorials may be made to Lakepoint Nursing Center in Augusta.
Marynell Smith
Marynell Cowell Smith, 79, of Augusta, formerly of Wellington, antique dealer, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999.
Her funeral was held today. She was buried in Prairie Lawn Cemetery at Wellington.
Survivors include: son, Kenneth Cowell of Sharpes, Fla.; daughters, Jo Karp of Bedford, Texas, Earlynn Beckner of Belle Plaine; brother, James Banning of Monroe, Mich.; sister, Jean Tomlinson of Iola; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with the Alzheimer’s Association.
Frank Funeral Home of Wellington had charge of arrangements.
Mildred Pace
Mildred L. Pace, 86, of Eureka, home care provider, mother of Daryl Brown of Augusta, died Thursday, March 4, 1999.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Campbell-Kelley Funeral Home in Eureka.
Other survivors include: son, Glenn Brown of Eureka; daughter, Marlys Dies of St. Charles, ILL.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with the Eureka Seventh-Day
Blanche Magers
Blanche Agnes Magers, 101, of Augusta, homemaker, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999.
Services will be Saturday, March 6, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Vern Bowers will preside. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
She was born in Goodrich, Ks., to Clarence and Gertrude (Pomeroy) Byerly.
She married Ralph Magers Sept. 18, 1918 in Mound City, Ks. He preceded her in death in June 1961.
Her son, Keith, also preceded her in death.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Madlyn Boucher of Augusta, Kay Andrews of Wilmington, N.C.; grandchildren Kim Andrews of Bronxville, N.Y., Mike Andrews of Laurel, Va., Kathy Helmer of Augusta; sister-in-law Jennie Byerly of Great Bend; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with the United Methodist Church Organ Fund of Stained Glass Windows.
