Dixie L. Eastham
Dixie L. (Hansen) Eastham, 73, a homemaker and retired school bus driver for Augusta Unified School District 402, died Monday, April 3, 2000 at the Lakepoint nursing facility in El Dorado.
Her funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Augusta First Christian Church. Rev. Tom Davis, church pastor, will officiate.
She was born Dec. 30, 1926 as the daughter of Edgar and Leo-ta Hansen. She grew up on the Hansen family farm in rural Bentley.
She and Jessie Jack Eastham were united in marriage June 12, 1953 at the Hansen farm site. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Eldora.
She attended the Wichita Business College.
Prior to working for the local school district, she was employed at the Innes Tea Room in Wichita and worked for the restaurant within the former Allis Hotel of Wichita.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Augusta and served her church through committees and various offices.
Mrs. Eastham and her husband enjoyed motor-home traveling about the country. They spent two summers in Alaska. She also collected antiques.
She leaves daughters, Jacky Bowen and son-in-law Bo Bowen of Elk Grove, Calif., Lynn Barrett and son-in-law Mike Barrett of Wichita; stepdaughters Kay Zang and her husband Lloyd of El Dorado, Dorothy Woods of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughters Sarah Fay and her husband Ron; step-granddaughters, Tammy Dewey and her husband, Mark Dewey of Wichita, Jennifer Loyd and her husband Steve Loyd of Atlanta, Ga., Jana Kay Gordillo and her husband Pedro Gordillo of Baton Rouge, La.; nephews Ed Campbell of San Jose, Calif., and Gerry Campbell and his wife Leslie Campbell of Burrton.
Memorials to the First Christian Church of Augusta, 1600 State, Augusta, Kan., 67010, have been suggested.
The Hillside Funeral Home ‘Augusta’ has charge of the arrangements.
Herman LeSuer
Augusta native Herman “Paul” LeSuer, 77, of Leawood, died Saturday, April 1, 2000 at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Funeral chapel.
Mr. LeSuer graduated from Augusta High School in 1941. He worked more than 40 years with Mobil Oil Corp. before retirement in 1983.
Memorials to the Salvation Army have been suggested.
Louise Hutchinson
Louise P. Hutchinson, 76, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, died Sunday, April 2, 2000.
Her graveside service Will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, April 5, at Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be possible until 8 p.m. this evening at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
She was a retired secretary at Wichita State University.
Mrs. Hutchinson leaves a son, Kent Hutchinson and sister-in-law, Norma Bartholomew.
Memorials to the American Heart Association have been suggested.

Bill J. Lord, 70, Augusta, died Friday, March 31, 2000.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel.
Visitation will be possible from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, Dunsford Funeral Home.
This former worker for Boeing and Cessna aircraft companies leaves his wife, Norma, son, Dan Lord, and daughter, Kathy VanDever, all of Augusta, and a brother, Bob Lord of Wichita; six grandchildren.
Memorials to Hospice Inc. or the American Cancer Society have been suggested.

She worked as an insurance policy examiner at Risco and formerly for Pizza Inc.
Mrs. Koehn leaves her husband Howard and daughter, Kecia Lee, both of Augusta, daughter D’Carla Love of Wichita; stepsons, Jeffrey Koehn of Leon and Daniel Koehn of El Dorado; stepdaughter, Denette Sersland of Leon; brother, Kenneth Dietrich of Lubbock, Texas; sister, Marlene Briggs of Troy, Texas, and six grandchildren.
Memorials to Hospice Inc. have been suggested.
