Mary E. Fischer

Mary Ellen Fischer, 69, Augusta, retired cook from Augusta Regional Medical Center, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000.
Her graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at Elmwood Cemetery.
She is survived by her two sons, Ronald Fischer, of Augusta, and Gary Fischer of Douglass; three daughters, Brenda Schnake of Augusta; Debbie Kastle of Mizzoula, Mont.; Shirley Houschultz of Augusta; mother, Dorothy Blankley of Herrington; four brothers, L. Duane Blankley, of Livingston, 111.; Donald Blankley of McLouth; Hiram Blankley and Kay Blankley, both of Council Grove; one sister, Alice Kahle of Herrington; 10 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren.
Memorials to Hospice Inc. (P.O. Box 3267, Wichita, KS, 67201-3267) have been suggested.
Hillside Funeral Home, Augusta, is in charge of arrangements.

Fern Harper

Helen Fern Harper, 88, Augusta, homemaker, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000.
Her service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with the family will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9.
She is survived by her son, Steve Harper of Meridian, Miss.; grandson, Scott Harper of Bozman, Mont.; granddaughter, Christy Wise, and great-grandson, Kyle Wise, both of Augusta.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Memorials to the First Southern Baptist Church have been suggested.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Kester

Thomas E. Kester, Sr., 77, Augusta, retired Dick Hatfield parts department employee, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000.
His service was today, Oct. 30, at Hillside Funeral Home, Augusta. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas Kester Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Wesley Kester of Augusta, Kevin Kester, of Sedgwick, Russell Hartness of Towanda; daughters, Deborah Sproul of Augusta; Brenda Snyder of Weston, Wyo.; brother, Leon Kester of Elk City, Okla.; sisters, Betty Sherrill of Ponca City, Okla.; Wilma Young of Harrison, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the American Legion, c/o Stanley Crooks, 1404 State, Augusta, KS, 67010 have been suggested.

Connie Lee

Connie Jo Lee, 57, Augusta, Walnut Valley certified medical assistant, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000.
Her service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at ELmwood Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Eddie Davis of Augusta, Sean Downing of Grove, Okla., daughters, Vinita Downing of Augusta, Lisa Goff of Baxter, Tenn.; brother, Eddie “Doc” Drouillard of Enid, Okla.; sister, Ruth Guest, of Provo, Utah; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Memorials to the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation have been suggested.

Mary Reiling

Mary Reiling, 78, mother of Tom Reiling and grandmother of Adam and Monica Reiling, all of Augusta, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000 in Wichita. She had been a short-term resident of Christ Villa Nursing Home in Wichita.
A Mass of Burial will be at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church in Wichita at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, with burial in the Elmwood Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at the DeVorss, Flanagan-Hunt
Mortuary in Wichita, Thursday, Nov. 9.
Mary Agnes Rowe was born Aug. 19, 1922, the daughter of Harry and Mary Rowe of Breda, Iowa. After finishing her education, she taught in rural schools for several years.
On Jan. 28, 1942, she married Richard Reiling at Breda, Iowa. They were in the livestock business around Iowa until the late 1960s.
After moving to the Wichita area in the mid-1970s, Mary was active in her church. They relocated to Augusta in 1986. Her husband Rich preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1991.
Other survivors include Carol Reiling, daughter-in-law, of Augusta; daughters, Shirley Bates of Wichita; Marilyn and Barney Oldfield of Mesa, Ariz.; Linda and Don Butler of Topeka; Patricia and Charles Scobba of Algona, Iowa; and sons, Bob and Brenda Reiling of Belle Plaine; Ron and Pena Reiling of Grand Prairie, Texas. Mary is also survived by 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She is also leaves two brothers, Norman Rowe of Harrison, Ark., and Don Rowe of Breda, Iowa; and three sisters, Frances Baumhover of Wall Lake, Iowa; Lois Brown of Anamosa, Iowa, and Donna Mae Reiling of Auburn, Iowa.
DeVorss, Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.
