Special Fund
Norma Jean “Jeanie” Copeland of Augusta, who is hospitalized in the bum unit of the Hillcrest Medical Center, 1120 S. Utica, Tulsa, Okla., is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Watson of El Dorado. The parents were not included in an item submitted by the family yesterday concerning a fund established at Prairie State Bank to assist Mrs. Copeland with expenses. She is expected to be a patient at the Tulsa hospital for another six weeks.

Father Dies In Olathe
John R. Anderson, Olathe, father of Jack Anderson of Augusta died Sunday morning in Olathe of an apparent heart attack.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Nazarene College Church, Olathe. Burial was at the National Military Cemetery in Leavenworth.
Augustans attending the funeral were Mrs. Jack Anderson’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Kinsley, and her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Miller, all of Augusta.
Other survivors include his wife, Betty Anderson of the home, and another son, Scott of Oxnard, Calif.

Sister Dies In Florida
Nellie Elizabeth Woolwine, 73, Lakeland, Fla., sister of Ina Minerd of Augusta, died Feb. 25 at a hospital there.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Mortuary. Burial will be in the Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
She was born June 27, 1909 in Bancroft to William and Dora Conley Turley.
She married Virgil Woolwine Feb. 24, 1931 in Wichita. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, L.W. Woolwine of Seattle, Wash., and Richard Woolwine of Lakeland; two brothers, Lester Turley and Cecil Turley, both of Wichita; three other sisters, Irene Carey of Oldsmar, Fla., May Straw of Wichita and Margaret Lord of Elk Falls and two grandchildren.

H. McCrary Dies At 84
Howard McCrary, 84, Towanda, died Wednesday.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.

H.H. Jones Burial Here
Harry Hudson Jones, 92, Wichita, died Wednesday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the DeVorss Mortuary in Wichita. Dr. David McCord will officiate and burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
He was born Dec. 7, 1890 in Anthony to Edward and Fannie Lambert Jones.
He married Myrtle Kelly. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Jones, formerly of Augusta, and Harry Jones, both of Wichita, and Arleigh Jones of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister, Nellie Brown of Woodlawn, Calif., and a grandson.

Ex-Augustan Dies At 86
Flossie A. Baird, 86, Winfield, formerly of Augusta died this morning at her home.
Her service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Winfield. Burial will
be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Cowley County Hospice Association, in care of Mrs. Lee Turner, 1622 E. 10th, Winfield.
She was born Jan. 22, 1897 at Atlanta to Joseph and Annie Elizabeth Pierce Stuckey.
She married Ruben H. Benedict in 1914. He died in 1922. She married John Albert Hall in 1923 and he died in 1951. She married James E. Baird in 1953 and he died in 1968.
She worked for the Boeing Military Aircraft Co. during World War II and also an licensed practical nurse.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, VFW Auxiliary, and the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Joseph F. Hall of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Mabel Elnora Tinker of Bella Vista, Ark., and Lillian Ditmore of Winfield; a brother, Eugene Stuckey of Winfield, and three grandchildren.
Swisher Tailer Morris Funeral Home in Winfield is in charge of arrangements.
