Irvin E. Smith
Irvin E. “Gene” Smith, 65, Wichita, retired Denny Klepper Oil Co. manager and brother of Terry Smith of Augusta, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9; service at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, both at Dunsford Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith is survived by wife, Betty; sons, Art of El Dorado, Jimmy of Newton; daughters, Jeannie Moore of Kechi, Debbie Taylor, Linda Smith both of Wichita, Becky Hunter of Arkansas City; brothers, Bill Smith of Haysville, Terry Smith of Augusta; sister, Mary Nixon of El Dorado; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Michael J. Silver
Michael J. Silver, 59, of Augusta, lawyer and farmer, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001.
Friends may call Wednesday at Holmes-Pfeifley Funeral Home, Riley, Kan. Visitation with family will be from 9 to 10 a.m.; service at 10 a.m. both Thursday, Aug. 16, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, Wichita. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center.
Mr. Silver is survived by wife, Jane; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Lori Silver of South-lake, Texas; twin daughters and son-in-law, Lynne and Chris Wettig, Lisa Silver all of Wichita; brother and sister-in-law, Lon and Jackie Morgan of Mor-ganville; aunts and uncle, Jean Fross of Scottsdale, Ariz. Norma and Wayne Haller of Manhattan, Kan.; grandchildren, Scott, Sammy, Chelsea and Ali.
Memorials have been established with Hospice Inc., Wichita and Kansas State University Center for Basic Cancer Research.
G.H. ‘Pat’ Finlay
Gilbert H. “Pat” Finlay, 88. Augusta, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29., at the First Methodist Church, 2420 N. Ohio.
Mr. Finlay was a retired school teacher, lumber businessman, and wood-crafter.
On Sept. 8, 1934, he married Naoma Alcorn in Topeka.
During his working years, he was a member of civic organizations, a Scoutmaster, a Rainbow Dad, and master wood-crafter.
Mr. Finlay was a 50-year member of American Legion, Masons, and Order of Eastern Star.
He belonged to the Wichita Consistory and was a 33rd Degree Mason. He was a past grand patron of the OES of Kansas.
Finlay leaves his wife, Naoma, of the home, sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Marian Finlay of Emporia, Gary and Judy Finlay of Austin, Texas, and Don and Loweta Finlay of Augusta; sisters, Violet Woodward of Lawrence, and Sara Allen of Carlsbad, Calif.; brother-in-law, Clifford Alcorn of Augusta; sisters-in-law Dorothy Finlay of Carbondale, and Dorothy Finlay of Texas. Survivors also include seven grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
Memorials to the First United Methodist Church have been suggested.

Gilbert O. Hollingsworth, 80, formerly of Augusta, retired self-employed building contractor and former Hollingsworth Model Shop owner, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001.
His service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.
Mr. Hollingsworth was pre-
ceded in death by parents, brothers, Judge and Dolphus Hollingsworth and sister, Inez Calcote.
Mr. Hollingsworth is survived by wife, Verda; son and daughter-in-law, Burle “Rusty” and Lyneta of Wichita; daughter and son-in-law, Murle “Connie” and Jerry Ukena of Wichita; sister, Cora Mai Skinner of Fredonia; grandchildren, Shannon Leonard, Kara and Ryan Hollingsworth all of Wichita.
A memorial has been established with Augusta First United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Henry E. House, 81, Leon, retired farmer and Boeing sheet metal employee, died June 23, 2001.
His service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Mr. House is survived by his wife, Beulah; sons, Herby of Douglass, Cecil Roberts of Augusta; daughters, Loretta Saghi of Muskogee, Okla., Peggy Williamson of Lyons, Leanna Johnson of El Dorado, Donna Nelson of Mulvane; sisters, Alta Vonsalvage of Illinois, Freida Donaldson of Enterprise, Evelyn Dinker of Denver, Colo., Dorothy Vaughn of Abilene; 10 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren.
Memorials have been established with the Leon Senior Center.
