Judith A. Watson
Judith Ann Watson, 57 of Augusta, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001 at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, also at Dunsford’s.
She was born in Girard as the daughter of Albert Weber and Dorothy Moyer Weber.
Mrs. Watson is survived by husband, Charles; sons, Charles Jr., Randy and wife, Jacquelynn, Kevin and fiance, Amy Butler; brother, Dennis Weber of Chase; two grandchildren, Tyler Wayne Watson and Nicole Lynn Watson both of Augusta.
She was preceded in death by parents, brothers, Roger and Larry; daughter, Nicole.
“Bill” Stewart
William A. “Bill” Stewart, 45, of Wichita, Starkey Inc. employee and brother of Marilyn Pence of Augusta, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001.
His service is at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Mr. Stewart is survived by brothers, Larry Stewart of Burden, Rick Hodge of Wichita, Vega Howell, Chris Howell both of Kansas City; sisters, Marilyn Pence of Augusta, Debbie Kirk, Lisa Stewart both of Wichita, Evia Maag of Abilene, Patricia Miller, Virginia Stewart both of Salina, Monta Kuntz of McPherson.
A memorial has been established with Starkey Inc. Broadway Mortuary of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.
Stephen Mark
Stephen P. Mark, 59, of Gypsum, formerly of Newton, retired Santa Fe Railway management division employee, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001.
His service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Mr. Mark is survived by father and stepmother, Verlin and Lois Mark of Augusta; daughters and sons-in-laws, Lisa and Bobby Pleasants of Madison, N.C., Julie Dobson of Winston-Salem, N.C., Jami and Joe Bostic of Greensboro, N.C.; special friend, Jolene Keller of Gypsum; five grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Rebecca Morrison House in Salina.
John P. Wood
John P. Wood, 63, of El Dorado, retired machinist and brother-in-law of Alice Neradil of Augusta, died Sept. 25, 2001.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 27. His funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, both at Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta.
Mr. Wood is also survived by a brother of Altoona, Pa.; one sister of Altoona, Pa., one sister of Detroit, Mich.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
Marion Smart
Marion E. “Red” Smart, 82, of Augusta, retired grain elevator manager, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001.
Visitation with family will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Hillside Funeral Home Augusta. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Leon (Kan.) Cemetery.
Mr. Smart is survived by sons, Roger Dale Smart of Salina, Terry Wayne Smart of Augusta; daughter, Martha Jean McAdoo of Wichita; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Lawrence Wells
Lawrence J. “Larry” Wells, 57, Augusta, died Monday, Oct. 1,2001.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at St. James Catholic Church.
Visitation will be possible between 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
Mr. Wells worked as an independent insurance sales agent.
He leaves his wife, Cheryl of the home, daughters Valarie Wells of Kansas City, Mo., and Cindy Cornell of Augusta; brother, Robert Leemhuis of Bozman, Mont., and granddaughter, Stephanie Cornell of Augusta.
Memorials to the American Lung Association of Kansas, P.O. Box 4426, Topeka, KS,
66604 or Special Olympics, 5315 E. 21st Street, Wichita, KS 67208 have been suggested.
