Lois F. Kaiser

Lois Frances Kaiser, 87, Augusta, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 12, at the Augusta United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
She was born Nov. 12, 1914 on the family farm in Barber County. Lois was the second of six daughters of George Harrison “Harry” Hull and Edna Jinkens Hull.
She was a graduate of Kiowa High School in Kiowa, Kan., and received her bachelors degree from Northwestern State College in Alva, Okla.
She was a teacher and taught in several rural schools in Oklahoma and Colorado, the Medicine Lodge Public School system, and 16 years as a kindergarten teacher in the El Dorado Public Schools.
Mrs. Kaiser is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws; Jean and Vince Groendes of Hamilton, June and Robert Pressnell of Augusta; sisters, Johnnie Riggins of Yuma, Ariz., Patti Price of Council Grove; two granddaughters; four great-grandsons.
Memorials have been established with the Augusta United Methodist Church and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is handling the arrangements.

Alice Gillette

Alice Gillette, 89, Augusta, homemaker, mother of Jack Phinney of Augusta, died Monday, July 15, 2002.
Her graveside service will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow, July 19, at Dunlap Cemetery, near Rose Hill.
Other survivors include: grandchildren, Bob Phinney, Debbie Christianson, both of Derby, Dennis Christian of Rose Hill; companion, Erika Klein of the home; three great-grandchildren.
Broadway Mortuary of Wichita is handling the arrangements.

Leila Bennington

Leila Maritique Bennington, 75, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999 at Augusta.
There will be no local service.
She was born March 20, 1924 at Blaine, Wash., to Chauncy Rose Norris and Ada Cain.
She was a retired cook for Augusta Medical Complex.
She is survived by: husband, Wayne Bennington; sons, Lawrence Ledford of Cleveland, Ohio, and Raymond Ledford of Augusta; daughters, Donna Rosenbaum of Andover, and June Low-den of Augusta; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Vickie Rogers

Homemaker Vickie Rogers,
55, Augusta, died today, July 26, 2002.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be possible from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday with the family present from 6 to 8
Mrs. Rogers leaves here husband, James A. Rogers of Augusta; daughter and son-in-law Jahrie and Jimmy Banks of Sanger, Texas; son James Michael Rogers of Wichita;
parents, Gene and Juanita Kingsley of Leon,; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Connie Kingsley of Wichita; sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Greg Darnell of Edwardsville; sister and brother-in-law Kim and Steven Edwards of Augusta; two grandchildren, Jamie and Jennifer Banks.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of
arrangements.

Vera Leota Ward

Vera Leota Ward, 82, Augusta retired Beech Aircraft worker, mother of Barbara Patterson of Augusta, died today, July 24, 2002.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, at the Augusta Church of Christ. 3500 N. Ohio.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at
Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
She was born on Jan. 24, 1920 in
Springdale, Ark. to the late J.W. Ferguson and Ella (Stone) Ferguson.
She attended Habberton, Ark.., grade school and also the Habberton Church of Christ.
She moved with her family to Kansas in 1951 to work at Beech Aircraft, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Augusta Church of Christ since moving to Augusta in 1955.
Mrs. Ward enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, her flowers and many friends and family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Joellen Pocock, her parents, husbands, Floyd Ray and Ivan Ward, brother, J.D. Ferguson.
Other survivors include: son, Paul A. Ray of Wichita; brother, Lyman Ferguson of Springdale, Ark.; sisters, Velma Milsap and Ruby Hagan, both of Springdale, Ark.; eight grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren.
Memorial established with Alzheimers Association and Augusta Church of Christ.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is handling the arrangements.
