Byard Earl Gosch

Byard Earl Gosch, 65, American Express Financial Advisor/Compliance Officer, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002.
Visitation with family, 6 to 8 p.m. today, Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, in Wichita.
His funeral service at 10:30
a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Augusta First United Methodist Church, 2420 N. Ohio, with burial at 3 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Norwich.
Byard was born Nov. 27, 1936, in Norwich to Boyd and Theda Lindsey Gosch.
He was married to Roberta Whetzel Gosch for 43 years.
Byard was employed by American Express Financial Advisors for 33 years, serving for 20 years as the Wichita Division vice president. He was a former teacher, principal and coach.
He was an active member of Augusta First United Methodist Church, where he served on the building committee, as chairperson of the finance committee, directed several stewardship campaigns, and served in other leadership capacities._________
He was a member of the Augusta Medical Complex Hospital board. Byard was a past president of the Wichita Chapter of the Pittsburg State University Alumni Association, and a loyal supporter of Shocker basketball.
He delighted in watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and other activities. Byard was an avid gardener, spending many hours in his vegetable and flower gardens.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: wife, Roberta; daughters and sons-in-law, Kristy and Allyn Weber of Portland, Texas, Kathryn and Michael Cline of Little Rock, Ark.; son and daughter-in-law, Kurtis and Patti Gosch of Marietta, Ga.; brother, Thomas Gosch of Webb City, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
Memorials established with Augusta First United Methodist Church, 2420 N. Ohio, Augusta, and Mid-Kansas Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 780294, Wichita, 67278-0294.

‘Bud’ Dennett

William Austin “Bud” Dennett, 86, Augusta, retired Boeing Wichita and Beech Aircraft Co. machinist, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, in Wichita.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Nov. 12, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
He was born July 11, 1916 in Wichita to
William A. Dennett and Doris E. (Pray) Dennett.
He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Hubert Snider;
brothers, Fred and Raymond Dennett; sisters, Mabel Bond and Betty Humbolt.
Survivors include: wife, Elizabeth Dennett of Augusta; sons and daughters-in-law, David Alan and Nancy Dennett of Augusta, Douglas Howard and Jo Dennett of McLouth; brother, Frances Humbolt of Mulvane, Enid Johnson, Ramona Cox, both of Newburn N.C.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren.
Memorial has been established with American Heart Association, 2100 E. Waterman, Wichita, 67214, or to charities of donor’s choice.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Lee H. Bird

Lee H. Bird, 75, Augusta, retired Bird Salvage owner and operator, died yesterday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Survivors include: wife, Stella; son. Dean, brother, Gerald, sister, Marie Carver, all of Augusta; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 710 W. 168th St., New York, N.Y., 10032-9982.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of the arrangements.

John N. McGrew

John Newland McGrew, 83, of Commerce, Okla., formerly of Augusta and Wichita, retired Wichita Fire Department fire fighter, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002.
Funeral service was held today at the First Baptist Church in Commerce.
Survivors include: wife, Kathryn; daughters, Johnna Sezer of Wichita, Jo Ann Harrold, Elaine Lovesee, both of Commerce; brother, Robert McGrew of Dodge City; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla., has charge of the arrangements.
