Viola F. Cline

Homemaker Viola F. (Ballard) Cline, 90, Augusta, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Visitation with family 5 to 7 p.m. this evening at the local funeral home.
Pastor E. Leon Hiebert with the Assembly of God Church of Andover will
conduct the service. He visited Viola many times in the nursing home and was kind to her. She belonged to the First Nazarene Church in Augusta while she was able to attend.
God said, “Let there be light,” and Grandson Devin said, “There was Grandma Viola’s smile.”
God said, “Let there be stars to brighten the night,” and Granddaughter Tara said, “There was the laughter in Grandma Viola’s eyes.”
God said, “Let there be warmth and gentleness,” and Granddaughter Sabrina said, “There was Grandma Viola’s touch.”
God said, “Let there be music,” and the ladies at the nursing home said she always sang the old gospel songs word for word.
God said, “Let there be faith, trust, hope, joy and love,” and that was Viola Cline’s heart.
We are thankful she was a beautiful part of our life as a family.
Survivors: special friends and caregivers, Bob and Judie Yeley of Augusta; foster son, Boyd Webster of Bartlesville, Okla.; niece Harriett Elliott Smith of Augusta, many foster grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Casketbearers will be Bob Yeley, Fred Carlton, David Schubert, Boyd Webster Jr., and Andro Grbic.
Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Viola F. Cline

Homemaker Viola F. Cline, 90, Augusta, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003.
Her funeral service was held Tuesday, March 4, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
She was born March 10, 1912 in Neodesha to Fletcher and Nanny Ballard.
She married Gilbert Cline Feb. 6, 1931 in Augusta.
Survivors include son Boyd Earl of Bartlesville, Okla.; two grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren and niece Harriett Elliott Smith of Augusta.
Mrs. Cline was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert, parents, four brothers, and four sisters.
Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta had charge of the arrangements.

Robert T. Burling

Robert T. Burling, 31, Wichita, grandson of Kathryn Dowell of Augusta, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7, in Branson Cemetery, 47th.& Greenwich Road.
Other survivors include: father, Gerald Burling of Whitewater; mother, Judith Sharp of Haysville; brothers, David Burling of Haysville, Gerald Burling, Jr. of El Dorado; grandmother, Viola Burling of Burley, Idaho.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Robert T. Burling Memorial Fund, c/o Rose Hill Bank.
Smith Mortuary of Derby has charge of the arrangements.


Robert L. Thomas

Robert L. “L.T.” Thomas, 66, Wichita, self-employed tileman, father of Kevin Thomas and Tammy Thomas, both of Douglass, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Gospel Assembly Church.
Other survivors: son, Chad Thomas of Wichita; father, Ernest Edward Thomas of Medford, Okla.; brothers, Edward “Ed” Thomas of Enid, Okla., Ernie Thomas of Medford, Okla.; sisters, Velma More of Boggs, Calif., Betty Anderson, Joyce Thomas, Gail Spires, Mary Wright, all of Wichita, Phyllis Leedom of Shady Point, Okla., Bernice Tucker of Grove, Okla.; three grandchildren.
Memorial established with Gospel Assembly Church Benevolent Fund, 4220 N. Oliver, Wichita, 67220.
Cochran Mortuary of Wichita is handling the arrangements.
